Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB thoroughbred meetings on February 22.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Bathurst,Terang and Queanbeyan.
BATHURST: RACE 2 @ 2:25 PM
Looks an ideal race for LIBERTY FIELDS (7) to bounce back into the winner's stall. Put the writing on the wall with a close-up second over this track and trip last start. O'Hara has had two rides for a win and a second and is drawn to get a soft run from gate three. Looks the one. URUS (4) has been a model of consistency lately placing at eight of his past nine starts. Placed at this trip and have to include again. CALBUCO (2) will strip fitter second-up and can feature. HARLEY FAT BOY (6) has placed at this journey and will be at peak fitness now. COTTON ON GEORGE (9) is best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Liberty Fields to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Bathurst Compter Card.
TERANG: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
CAKE WALKER (1) wound up strongly to finish on the winner's heels last start at Warrnambool. Big weight but drawn well for the senior hoop and should prove the testing material. SKYWAY STAR (6) usually races well second-up so can improve on her fourth when resuming at Warrnambool. Extra trip a plus and rates very strongly here. TRENCHANT (3) was a narrow winner by a head last time out at Warrnambool but is up in weight, even after the claim. Worth following up. NOBLE ROCKS (5) placed second by a head last start at Ararat and expected to go forward here. Overdue and worth consideration. FRANQUIN (7) rates a chance.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Cake Walker.
QUEANBEYAN: RACE 5 @ 3:55 PM
ARABISC (1) is fast and missed a lip at Canberra before winning the CL1 here. Like others he failed after that on the Sapphire Coast heavy. Back in grade to a sprint with a handy 3kg claim he will take beating. CANFORD CALLING (3) won twice here before the placed run at Braidwood. His record at the track is hard to go past and the scratchings bring him right into it. HAUNTING SPIRIT (5) has been freshened and is back from an okay first-up effort at Albury. Runs along and fitter should be in it a long way. CHAIRMAN'S CHOICE (2) will be better third-up and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Arabisc.
