Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB thoroughbred meetings on March 6.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Flemington, Randwick, Eagle Farm, Edenhope, Bunbury and Morphettville Parks.
FLEMINGTON: RACE 8 @ 4:45 PM
FIFTY STARS (3) won this race last year coming off a fast and high-rating run in the Blamey and he arrives this year on the back of just the same thing. Set to peak here on the back up, as he did in the Mackinnon, and think he holds a great chance of going back-to-back. The Young Stakes was slowly run and that made it hard for ANGEL OF TRUTH (6) but his late work was terrific for the second time this prep and he looks on track to run a big race here. SHARED AMBITION (11) was unable to run down PARADEE (17) there but there wasn't much between them and a stronger tempo this time can see the tables turn. HOMESMAN (4) will be fitter for his run there and looks set to go well from the front.
SELECTIONS: Backing Fifty Stars to repeat the dose from last year.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Flemington Computer Card.
RANDWICK: RACE 9 @ 5:40 PM
SHE'S IDEEL (5) caught the eye late when resuming and this looks a more suitable assignment second up. Nice mare who has three wins and a placing from four tries at this track and is two from two at the distance. Looms as a big chance. POLLY GREY (13) has never really fired second up but looks capable on her first up run. With the added fitness she is a threat. ROCHA CLOCK (7) has won two from three second up attempts so can improve while LE LUDE (16) appears the next in line.
SELECTIONS: She's Ideel to win second up.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 4 @ 2:17 PM
SHE ZA BOSS (6) has the hoof on the till having worked home to place at both runs this time in, the latest when beaten less than a length in open grade at this course. Suited stepping up to a distance where she has won three of five attempts and will be peaking. Ready to win. SEEINGISBELIEVING (3) resumes off some good form, winning twice since switching to Tony Gollan last campaign. Readied with a trial and is a two-time fresh winner. Makes plenty of appeal. GOODONYA SONJA (1) found winning form at this track and trip last start. Draws the same barrier and can be involved again. ENTERPRISE PRINCE (5) hasn't been far away of late and does his best work at this distance while BAILEYS (7) has each way claims off a last-start win.
SELECTIONS: She Za Boss to strike third up.
EDENHOPE: RACE 7 @ 5:01 PM
FAROOQ (4) has chose this path rather than heading to the Adelaide Cup on Monday. Will find this a lot easier company and looks one of the better chances today. HARD 'N' TOUGH (2) will challenge. Won the Colac Cup despite being held-up in the run home. Smart performance that day and is right in this. NAVAL WARFARE (3) also comes out of the Colac Cup and can feature second-up. Has to go in. DR DEE DEE (8) was ok in placing at big odds at Murray Bridge. Goes in trifectas along with PATCH ADAMS (6) who was disappointing last start but can pick up in this.
SELECTIONS: Farooq the win.
BUNBURY: RACE 9 @ 5:10 PM
MONTELENA (7) is fitter for two runs back where she's found the line well and just bumped into a nice horse last time. Drawn well and this is her race to lose. PADDY'S SHADOW (8) caught the eye late running into third in the same race as Montelena. Close to a year since her last win but racing well and she's always a chance. TRAP FOR FOOLS (1) overdid it a bit fresh since the Perth Cup when a fading sixth in that race too. From a better gate he can find the lead and take catching. DIVINE SHADOW (4) and UTGARD LOKI (12) are each-way hopes.
SELECTIONS: Montelena to win.
MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 9 @ 5:41 PM
FABULOUS FLIPPER (7) might have to take a sit off the back of the speed but that could be a top spot to be. She won a not dissimilar race two weeks ago and that was this course and distance. LARKHAM (1) led and kept running a fortnight back. Might not be able to get there from this draw. Could have improved though. NARRATIVE STAR (9) will be another right up with the lead. She too comes here off a win. APPALACHIAN (5) will be back off the pace here but can flash home late. CHUCKY (2) had genuine excuses second up. Could easily do better.
SELECTIONS: Backing Fabulous Flipper.
