CANBERRA: RACE 6 @ 4:30 PM
BRAVE SONG (2) has been airborne at Listed level in Melbourne just missing in the Manifold Stakes before the 1.3L defeat in the Dillon Stakes. 2x winning rider McDonald is reunited and he looks the one to beat. ACADEMY (7) presents third-up off two city placings at 88 level with a trial win squeezed in between. Led missing a nose as favourite the latest and still has plenty up the sleeve. The shorter sprint won't bother and he's on the up. Hard to beat riding the speed. JUST THINKIN' (4) should be poised to run a big race first up off a sharp trial and Clark sticks from that. He's up to this and no surprise if the Waterhouse-Bott galloper makes the finish getting average luck from the wide gate. HANDLE THE TRUTH (3) is a well-performed local who's sure to be primed for a peak run. Won this day last year carrying a big weight and Rawiller sticks from that. Ran on solidly at Rosehill first-up but has to be a slight risk at 1400m. POETIC CHARMER (5) next. SELECTIONS: Backing Brave Song to win.

STONY CREEK: RACE 3 @ 1:50 PM
OSTARA (9) was grabbed in final stages here two starts back before failing to get into the race at Moe last time. Back to this trip suits and should not be left out of calculations. HELL OF A BOY (2) had good support at Yarra Valley last time when filling a place for the first time. Encouraging signs last start and can go on with it here. TURF FLYER (4) disappointed in town last time but previous couple of efforts were sound. Expected to be competitive this time. FUTURE CHARM (10) is a three-year-old filly by Nostradamus from Charnzel on debut. Profiles well for this and pay to respect any market moves. SELECTIONS: Back Ostara each-way.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 3 @ 2:20 PM (AEDT)
MOOD (2) returned from a break with a solid performance here when well supported. Fitter for the run and rates strongly in this line-up. Worth following up. MR SO AND SO (1) is a former Hong Kong galloper that has had three Australian starts. Last couple moderate but drops in grade here and shapes as an improver. EIRA (5) just missed out on a place last time. Fitter for the run but will find this company a little tougher than last time, however should be involved here if runs to best. BELLICOSE (7) led them up over 1600m last time and back to this trip is well worth another chance. SELECTIONS: Back Mood.
TAMWORTH: RACE 5 @ 3:25 PM
SATIN RUBY (13) loves this distance range with a win and three placings from four attempts. Will appreciate the drop to country grade for the new stable after having raced at metropolitan and provincial level at all nine starts to date. The one to beat. The well-travelled HOLY COMMAND (4) has raced in Victoria, South Australia, North Queensland and now finds himself in Tamworth. Was a handy fourth first-up for the new stable and has won second-up prior. Drawn perfectly for Gibbons in gate one and gets 2kg off. The main threat. NOT NEGOTIATING (6) will strip fitter third-up and appreciate the 2kg claim. GENERAL SCARLET (3) goes well here with two wins from four starts and gets 1.5kg weight relief. JOEY'S CHANCE (12) has had a win and a third from three goes at this track and distance and is usually in the frame. SELECTIONS: Satin Ruby to win.
ECHUCA: RACE 7 @ 4:35 PM
REGARDSMAREE (2) has upgraded his form considerably this preparation winning four of his five starts and was desperately unlucky in defeat at the other. All four wins have come over this distance and the only query is that he may be getting towards the end of his preparation but he's the one to beat. HI STRANGER (4) has been close up recently behind the likes of Sirius Suspect, Prophet's Thumb and Subedar which reads well for this. He's among the winning hopes with William Pike taking the ride despite not having won at the distance. FOX HALL (3) gets to the right trip now and always has to be respected in these type of races. Include. WIDGEE TURF (1) is just struggling to win another race but he's a winner of three of six third up but this race looks suitable. EASY BEAST (5) was runner up in this race last year but faces a task to get to the speed from the draw. Take on trust. SELECTIONS: Regardsmaree is the one they all have to beat in the Cup. Save on Hi Stranger.
ASCOT: RACE 3 @ 5:30 PM (AEDT)
Can't find too many reasons to knock VANE TEMPEST (1) so far. Has a really good record and looks like it's in a suitable race again to win. ISEERED ISEERED (2) placed here last start after being outclassed in a Magic Millions race at Bunbury. Looks the main danger on that last run. CABLE BOY (3) knocked over the maiden here last start. Might find one or two stronger but has to be in calculations. MISS VASARI (6) couldn't do more than win on debut last start. Steps up again maybe but a trifecta chance at least. STANDOUT ROSE (7) might need the run but on ability could sneak a first four spot. SELECTIONS: Vane Tempest the win.
CLARE: RACE 7 @ 5:35 PM (AEDT)
CONNERMARA ROSE (2) performed well last start when third at Morphettville Parks over 1950m. Big odds but well placed here and will go close if runs to that again. KORODON (1) finds it hard to win with five from 40 starts but has been placed on 13 occasions and looks primed for this race. Another who will appreciate this company. ANTIPAS (5) has notched up two wins from three starts at Clare. Looks one of the leading challengers. RAPID RIDE (4) will be rock-hard fit now following a nice effort at Balaklava last start when third. WICKED WHITT (3) comes here with definite place claims. SELECTIONS: Connermara Rose will go close on latest.
