Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 3.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Pakenham, Moruya, Scone and Rockhampton. 

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 7 @ 3:30 PM

KERMALAW (2) is an improver who impressed from the back winning the Maiden here. Draws for a soft run today and he looks capable of repeating. CAILLOUX (10) was wide and okay placing second-up on the synthetic. He has more up the sleeve and fitter should be right in the finish. SCARLETT HEART (1) has won and just missed the last two on the synthetic and the 4kg claimer takes care of the weight lift. Rates well but a good ride is required pushing-over from the outside gate. ROCK THE BOWLER (7) had support but no luck first-up. Has won second-up and could surprise.

MORUYA: RACE 2 @ 1:35 PM

CLUB LEGEND (3) is on a 9 day back up after finishing 0.8L away at the Sapphire Coast last start. Went down narrowly at this course two back. Closing in on a win and is the one to beat today. NOTHING COMPARES (1) wasn't far away in midweek company at Sandown last start and drops back in distance after 34 days off. Class horse of the field and is a definite winning hope. JAC THE GREAT (4) disappointed at Goulburn last time out but was only 2.8L away at this track the start prior. Forgive last run, won't be far away. ICKSTA (6) has been knocking on the door for a while now. Back in distance today. Keep safe.

SCONE: RACE 7 @ 4:55 PM

MISS KINGSTON (3) missed a nose here first-up and then came back and won the Maiden easily as favourite. Has to manage the wide gate but the spacious track suits and she rates to win. DEPLOYS ALONE (1) raced favourite the latest in stronger and disappointed. Was tracking well prior in the same grade and he gets the handy 3kg claim today. Has the speed to manage the sticky gate. MOSHT UP (5) has been knocking on the door including in provincial company. Needs a some luck pushing forward but is in the mix. OWHATA CRUMPET (7) has been knocking on the door and the speedy galloper will be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Miss Kingston.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 3 @ 2:34 PM

Good race. THE EGYPTIAN (3) is a super consistent type in great form and earned the big weight but gets the claimer. Has good speed and hard to see him not being in the finish. The one to beat. DURIF (2) makes return after four-and-a-half months. Has been almost two years since a win but has a great record here and goes well fresh. Looks the danger. RAIDEN (1) finished off strongly when beaten 1.3 lengths last time at Moranbah. Tougher here but looks an each way chance. CHEZBLACK (4) finished among the placings last time when third at this track after a tardy start. Peaks and drawn for the soft run. LINGALONGA LASS (5) comes here with definite place claims.
