Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB thoroughbred meetings on March 9.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Wyong, Ballarat and Wagga.

WYONG: RACE 4 @ 3:05 PM

PMRUSSBUSS (8) should have taken benefit from the run here last time. Was in contention but just found one better. Looks the main hope. READAPT (5) hung out two runs back but improved on that last start. Will be on the pace and isn't out of it for a placing at least. TWITCH (9) went ok at the trials when winning last month and rates well on breeding. OUR LITTLE LOUIE (1) needs to show a bit more but worth including in exotics if you're looking for another one. G'DAY POOPSIE (3) is a wider first from chance if you're looking.

BALLARAT: RACE 5 @ 3:30

PMCHEEKY PEAKY (5) performed well last start when second at Bendigo over 1300m after being wide throughout and fighting on bravely. Peaks for this. Ready to win and expected to go close. ANIRISHMAN (1) ran well last start when third at Moonee Valley over 1600m. Rates a top chance this company. IRISH DELIGHT (3) lifted strongly when winning by a nose three runs back at Geelong. Expecting a bold showing. ISOLA COMACINA (12) was among the placings last time when second at Warrnambool and will be fitter again, winning hope. LADY DELIGHT (10) can feature.
SELECTIONS: Cheeky Peaky can measure to the mile.

WAGGA: RACE 7 @ 5:50

PMBLITZAR (1) comes back plenty in grade and just missed twice before failing to manage the wide gate the latest in a strong form race. Draws for a soft run and is the one they have to beat. CHARM WING (4) has won the last two comfortably at Albury and can make another ratings spike. She has the speed to manage the sticky gate and she should go close. KUROCAINE (8) rates highly and is ready to win. Heywood sticks with Blitzar but the gelding will lose nothing with McDougall going on. Expect the speedy galloper to be right in it. ELENARA (10) has had one blip in a string of strong efforts but the wide gate is against.
