Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on March 24.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Sandown-Lakeside, Strathalbyn, Ascot, and Launceston.
SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 8 @ 6:30 PM
EXCELLERATION (8) won the Maiden by a space and was spelled after the near-miss here this level when he didn't have the best if it. Five winners have come out of that and he's sure to return to racing further improved. He shapes as a decent bet. THE STAGER (12) presents off a 7.5L Maiden win at Sale heavily-bet. He can build on that and can threaten. O'REILLY MCLUKE (2) runs along and the 64 win at Warrnambool was easy. Up 200m but likes it wet and should be in it for a long way. GOVERNOR LANDY (7) won this grade and has been threatening the same level since. A minor hope in this contest.
SELECTIONS: Backing Excelleration to win.

ASCOT: RACE 2 @ 1:07 PM
The Parnhams can combine for an early winner here with FLYING MISSILE (6). Nothing wrong with the way it went last prep and today the form around it is good, too. Stacks up well. Chris Parnham rode Elite Fighter at the trials but has gone this way instead. SECRET LAIR (1) had excuses when losing a pate here last month. Not a lot wrong with the way it has been going and looks the main danger. PLEMONT (8) trialled well at Pinjarra. Under race conditions today might find a couple stronger but has to go in. ELITE FIGHTER (3) has been stepping up in trip gradually at the trials. Not out of it on debut. RISING COMMODITY (7) needs to show more today but could sneak a wider first four spot.
SELECTIONS: Flying Missile the win.
LAUNCESTON: RACE 3 @ 7:20 PM
GEE GEE REAL DEAL (7) is busting to win and there was only a lip in it here the latest as favourite. Carr rides first time and the filly is clearly the one to beat. HEAVENS HEARTBREAK (6) resumes and is likely to be improved. Gets a low gate and has shown enough to feature if presented forward this time around. GRANDEZZA (5) debuts and has trialled well. Draws the rail and the Magnus mare is definitely a betting watch. GEE GEES TEARDROP (4) did little first up but has been a big trial winner since. Gets the handy 3kg claim and expect him to make quick improvement.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Gee Gee Real Deal.
