Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 2nd May 2021

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 2.

Racecourse : Sapphire Coast (Australia)
Racecourse : Sapphire Coast (Australia)

NORTHAM: RACE 8 @ 4:20 PM

FLIRTINI (7) went to the paddock in great form and creates all the interest fresh for the Simon Miller stable. Sole trial in the lead up was very good and she appears well placed under the conditions of the race. Pike sticks aboard (4:2-2) and she's drawn to receive all the favours. If up to her best she looks very hard to beat. Stablemate VALOUR ROAD (1) mixed his form last time in but is more than capable when right and from the good draw he is expected to run well with Rawiller booked. UNI TIME (9) will be better over further but appears capable of running a good run fresh along with the ever consistent MASSIMO (4). SELECTIONS: Very keen on Flirtini.

SAPPHIRE COAST: RACE 7 @ 4:29 PM

YORKER (7) is ex Team Hawkes and had no luck at Queanbeyan for the Jarvis yard. Was well-bet and the blinkers go on first time. The dry track form prior reads very well for a country Maiden. LAST QUEST (5) improved again beaten 1L at Canberra after a slow off. That stacks right up and he should go close reaching peak fitness. KIRKTON (4) resumes and is advantaged by the low gate and 2kg claim. He will have come on and and has shown enough to say he's a chance. SHECAGO (11) is a stablemate who will be better for the first-up run at Canberra when she was slow away. EVANORA (8) SELECTIONS: Will back/save Yorker and Last Quest.

BENDIGO: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM

POET WARRIOR (2) has placed at both runs this time in, the latest when second over 1300m at Cranbourne. Should be at peak fitness this time and looks ready to win. BELLICOSITY (1) has missed a place just once in five starts. Is an honest performer in maiden grade and won't be long in breaking through. DALLAS COWGIRL (6) showed the benefit of her first campaign when she returned with a solid effort at Echuca. Fitter this time, rates well and is among the chances. LITTLE MISS DOTTY (7) is coming off a break but did show ability last campaign. Looks a strong place hope. SELECTIONS: Back Poet Warrior.

NARACOORTE: RACE 3 @ 1:55 PM

GRAFTON AVENUE (18) was impressive at Oakbank when he came from the back and raced away from Soumah to score. He's got talent and will be winning this if he gain a start. CLEVER MAN (3) was placed at Gosford last November and ran well at his local debut when 4th at Hamilton after he had specking and has claims here despite a wide gate. OUR BOY BAILEY (4) has been around the mark and mut be given some thought despite a tricky wide gate. MISTA KNOWITALL (15) was placed at Penola behind Miss Mosh last time out and should run well here. EUROGEM (11) has won five races and was runner-up at Clare two starts back. SELECTIONS: Grafton Avenue to win.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM

MAN OF SINN (2) just missed resuming at Eagle Farm for the Waller barn in much stronger class. He has plenty up the sleeve and gets a soft run from the low barrier. He should be taking this out with the extra fitness. HELMET HEAD (4) has been getting back but finished well to just missed at Ipswich this level. Finally gets a low draw and can make the finish again. ALLUDERE (9) placed in the same race and is in the mix drawn a low barrier. SELECTIONS: Backing Man Of Sinn to win.

ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 7 @ 4:06 PM

DIZZY MISS LIZZY (4) is a well-bred mare in the top Darwin yard. Placed here second-up as favourite and the top stable striker goes on today. Gets weight relief and a low gate and fitter is the one to beat. WICKED SCANDAL (6) won that race and is the danger. Was a 4.3L winner at Clare prior and the low gate advantages. ARROGANT MISS (1) won at this level and then placed in Open company. She can make the finish again. TOUCH OF PARADISE (7) can show more third-up and fill out the first-four. SELECTIONS: Backing Dizzy Miss Lizzy.

BAIRNSDALE: RACE 5 @ 3:25 PM

OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL (4) is getting closer to another win having placed at her past three starts including last start over this distance behind Running Cloud who has since won again. From an inside draw she should get all the favours on speed and looks one of the better bets for the day. ALL TIARA (3) only went down narrowly last start in this grade and distance range when favourite. She warrants plenty of respect in this race. CHEPTEGEI (2) didn't have any luck at a crucial stage last start when just missing. Include. ROEDERER (5) can be forgiven for last start and a better reference is two starts ago when he was close up on firmer footing. ABLE WARRIOR (1) resumes here with his best form being over further but he should be closing off nicely late. SELECTIONS: Our Guardian Angel is the one to beat.

BATHURST: RACE 3 @ 2:10 PM

Looks a very winnable race for LONDON GAL (5). Put the writing on the wall for this with a handy second over this journey last time out. Will be at peak fitness fourth-up from the spell and drawn perfectly in gate one. The testing material. BANJU (2) failed last start but prior to that hadn't missed a drum in eight career starts. Looks a threat. CAN DO IT (1) has placed over this journey and will be rock-hard fit for this. In the mix. TIMPERLEY (4) has placed five of his past seven starts and can be in the frame again. DEPARTING BULLET (7) placed here last start and is one for the exotics. SELECTIONS: London Gal to win.
