Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 11.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Mornington, Taree, Wellington and Mackay.
MORNINGTON: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
AWARD WINNER (11) finished among the placegetters last start when third at Geelong over 1100m in soft going. That was first run off a very long break and will strip much fitter. Expected to go close. HARD PRESS (1) ran on strongly to finish on the winner's heels when first up last start at Cranbourne. That was also off a long spell and looks hard to go past here second-up. DIXIANA (9) saluted by 1.3 lengths last start at Moe and should race on the speed. Can give a sight and measure up again. CUT IT OUT (4) finished eighth last start, beaten 5 lengths at Cranbourne over 1000m. Much better than that and can atone this time. UNICORNY (10) is resuming with solid claims.
SELECTIONS: Award Winner will improve sharply.

SARAH ELIZABETH (5) resumed off a big peak with a solid effort at Port Macquarie. Needs some luck from the sticky gate but will be fitter and is right up to this. THISWILLDOUS (6) will use the low gate and was tracking well before the latest start in Open grade. He can bounce back in this contest. HAY THERE MCNAIR (9) is a resumer who's shown enough to say he can be very competitive. Has trialled twice and is quick enough to manage the outside gate. DREAMING OF GOLD (1) finds easier grade and is better than the formline suggests. Keep on side.

WELLINGTON: RACE 4 @ 2:20 PM
MIANDELLE (5) won a trial and then was too good at Scone on debut. Impressed after a slow start and shapes as if the mile will suit well. Draws nicely and fitter is good enough to make it a double. MAGIC CHARLEE (3) wasn't beaten far at Newcastle and finds easier. He's a winning chance reaching peak fitness. OCEAN HERO (2) is going well enough to make the frame along with PITTSBURGH (9).
SELECTIONS: Miandelle will take beating in a race short on genuine chances.
MACKAY: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM
STAR OF O'REILLY (2) races handy and seeks the hat-trick third-up. Keeps getting better and can keep things rolling drawn to advantage. ALL STAR ROCKET (4) is a stablemate and will also be fitter. He will race handy and her best is good enough. MONSIEUR MACRON (1) is in the same barn and will be much better second-up Wiggins' booking is a positive and keep well onside. JOHNNY WHITESOX (5) is a former Victorian back after 81 days from the new yard. Loves wet track but can race competitively any conditions and is a market watch. LIEUTENANT (6) has been racing well at the non-tabs and is in the mix.
