Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 14.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Scone, Kilcoy, Albury, Geelong and Cranbourne.
SCONE: RACE 1 @ 12:20 PM
ANSELMO (1) has been knocking on the door with three placings from three career starts. Will strip fitter second-up from the spell and is drawn perfectly for Latham in gate one. The one to beat. EXTERMINATE (3) returned in good order when narrowly beaten at Newcastle first-up from the spell. Has placed two from three second-up and Weir was on board for the last start placing and sticks. Looks a key player. TRUMPED UP (5) is very consistent only missing the top five twice in 15 starts. Can be in the frame again. HOKAHEY (7) will take plenty of benefit from her debut run and can earn a cheque. CHAREADY (2) just missed last time out and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Anselmo to win.

KILCOY: RACE 3 @ 1:04 PM
READY FOR MAGIC (2) was quickly back to form leading and winning the CL1 comfortably this grade as expected. He has more up the sleeve and fitter will take plenty of beating drawn to advantage. CHILL THE BEER (1) peaks off a decent effort at the Sunshine Coast. He will use the low gate and is a winning chance. POETIC CHOICE (4) has been knocking on the door and has been racing in stronger. Gets a soft run from the rail and should be right in it. MASTER BAYLEE (3) was much better at Ipswich and is in the mix given a good ride from the 2kg claimer. SELECTIONS: Backing Ready For Magic.
GEELONG: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
LAUDEYLOU (8) could find the fence up on the pace here and can follow-up with another win after just missing the placings at Werribee last start. Beat St Cloud Femme two runs back who went around earlier today. May pay to check that result. Looking a winning chance overall though. MISS BRIXTON (9) is at the right stage of the prep to go well. Put in a better run last start at Terang when beaten narrowly. Quinella chance at least. COLLECTABLE (13) is near a win and a good performance won't surprise. MISS MADEC (11) put in an improved showing last start and might prefer some rain about. Trifecta chance. GREAT AMBITION (10) will find this a lot easier than the Caulfield run in mid-April. Was big odds that day but on the run before at Kilmore can figure in exotics.
SELECTIONS: Laudeylou the win
CRANBOURNE: RACE 8 @ 9:00 PM
SEB SONG (4) resumes off a 3.3L 70 win at The Valley and had been threatening. Will have come on and is the one to beat with a good ride from the handy 2kg claimer. A PINCH OF LUCK (7) has been knocking on the door in good contests and is also back in grade. Peaks now and should go close. STAREDOWN (5) didn't have much luck at Pakenham seeking the hat-trick. Has the speed to manage the sticky gate and the 3kg claim brings him right into it. SCANTOON (3) resumes and goes fresh. Rates well and should find the front-end okay.
SELECTIONS: Backing Seb Song.
ALBURY: RACE 8 @ 4:25 PM
LUPINO LASS (11) settled back and came home well to win the Maiden here resuming for a leading yard. Has been away from racing for 330 days and is sure to have come on. The top hoop sticks and can manage a good ride from the sticky gate. COME GET ME (6) finds easier and go on the CL1 win here two-back. Draws to advantage and will be right in it mirroring that effort. CLASSIC FASTNET (9) missed a lip at Wodonga from the speed in a return to form. Has switched yards and comes back to a shorter sprint after a 48 day freshen. Uses the rail and is in the mix. TABLOID STAR (3) has been winning at the non-tabs but this is harder and the draw is against.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Lupino Lass.
