Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 24.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Ballarat Synthetic, Albury and Taree.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 3 @ 2:30 PM

GALANTHEUM (4) was in the money last start when second at Geelong over 1325m in soft going and should be at peak now. Long overdue for a win and rates a top chance. AMERICAN ANTHEM (2) is yet to break through after six career starts but was placed at Kilmore two back before finishing fourth at Wodonga last time. Was slow to begin latest and has the blinkers added this time. Can produce a winning run here. IDEAL MISS (5) finished among the placings last time when third at Echuca and should be further improved, can figure in the finish. MILLENNIUM JEWEL (6) has been in the market at her recent starts but yet to break through, the latest running ninth at Donald. Blinkers on and can improve. NEEDLEWORK (8) will be winding up late.

ALBURY: RACE 3 @ 2:20 PM

ELOPE TO VEGAS (7) has performed well since joining the Ben Brisbourne yard. Ran on strongly last start after finding himself too far back in the pack. Drawn well and should prove hard to beat. SIZZLING CAT (6) steps back in class today after finishing only 5 lengths from the winner in the Wagga Guineas. Blinkers on again here today and he looks a definite winning chance. DUBAI CENTRE (4) was a good winner two starts back at Bathurst then failed to fire last time out at Queanbeyan. Gets back onto a bigger track here and is sure to be in the finish. KENTUCKY DREAM (8) is having his first start for the Mitch Beer stable. Has been good in his past three starts including a win last time out at Werribee. Won't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Elope To Vegas to add another win to his tally.

TAREE: RACE 3 @ 2:05 PM

SIR BAWN (10) was beaten 1.7L at Scone and then was just nudged out here 3 weeks ago. Keeps getting better and is clearly the one to beat in this line-up. SENSEI JACKIE (9) found much better form leading here beaten a half length. Peaks with more up the sleeve and should go close. LINCOLN PARK (6) surprised the market beaten 2.3L at Scone and also has more to give. Fitter and a player. MR EIGHTY EIGHT (1) has switched from a top Victorian yard and has shown enough to he will be very competitive if presented on-song. Gibbons is a positive booking.
SELECTIONS: Backing Sir Bawn to win.
