Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 26.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canterbury, Sandown-Hillside, Doomben, Belmont Park and Strathalbyn.
CANTERBURY: RACE 4 @ 2:35 PM
It took him a while to break through but OSAMU (1) finally tasted success last time out at Newcastle. Had been racing in Group races earlier in his career but appreciated the drop in grade last start. Can take plenty of confidence from that victory and can go right on with it now. Looks the one they all have to catch. ZOU DE MOON (9) didn't do much wrong last campaign with a win and a second from two starts. Has tuned up for this with two easy trials and gets 1.5kg off with the claim. Looks a key player. FASTCONI (2) is very consistent only missing the top four twice in ten starts. Has placed two from two over the track and trip and is right in the mix again. COMPORTA (10) is still a maiden but has placed here and gets the inside gate for Berry. DON LUIGI (4) best of the rest on the back of a last start victory. SELECTIONS: Osamu to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Canterbury Computer Card.
SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 6 @ 3:20 PM
PEARLMAN (9) is a former Irish galloper. Missed a nose second-up at the mile for the new yard. That stacks right up and he's been saved for this. Hard to beat. SHE'S A KARAKA (16) impressed missing a lip resuming at the mile. Things didn't work out after at 2000m. Fitter and the 3kg claimer goes on. Fitter and can feature strongly. FACEMASK (11) has placed the last two and is ready to win. Draws closer-in now and a top rider sticks. AZNAVOUR (13) did a big job to finish so close the latest. Peaks now and isn't out of it.
SELECTIONS: Backing Pearlman to win.
DOOMBEN: RACE 1 @ 12:33 PM
JAKKALBERRY FINN (1) won a trial and then missed a nose on debut and had no luck at all. In a hot yard and can take this out with average luck from the sticky gate. KID MAC (11) is busting to win and rates strongly. Races handy and the barrier advantages. Can feature at a good price. DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR (8) didn't miss by far resuming at Eagle Farm and then didn't have the best of it there after. Needs a luck in the run but is an improver with claims. MOONSHINER (5) will be better for the two runs back and has more up the sleeve. Gets the 1.5kg claim for a promising apprentice. Go well. SELECTIONS: Backing Jakkalberry Finn to win.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 6 @ 3:05 PM
GHETTO (1) followed a luckless run two back with a soft Bordertown win last time. He draws a good gate and can make it two straight wins here. HONEY GO LIGHTLY (2) was first-up at Warrnambool before a handy effort at Gawler last time and looks a winning hope here, THE PUBLIKIN (5) has a good record here on her home track and has a couple of trials under her belt. AUSTIN RAIDER (9) has been freshened but would be in the mix in a race like this on his best form. AMBERTONE (8) has a good record here on her home track and has a couple of trials under her belt.
SELECTIONS: Ghetto to win.
