Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 28.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held Cranbourne, Ballarat Synthetic, Casino, Goulburn and Sunshine Coast.
CRANBOURNE: RACE 9 @ 9:00 PM
Competitive event to round out the card. NO CHANGE (2) is shooting for four-in-a-row here. Has a liking for the Cranbourne circuit and the form from runners finishing behind it recently also reads well. CATEGORY FIVE (3) is at the right stage of the prep to go well. The 3-kilo claim could be telling in a tight finish and jockey J Richards is riding really well at the moment. LYRICAL LAD (6) steps up to the mile after winning over 1500m last start. A good draw works in it's favour and is a place chance at least. EMPIRE LIBERTY (10) was beaten by New Choice last start within a length and the run before beaten by Category Five. Similar formlines puts it right in the mix and can't be left out.
SELECTIONS: New Choice the win and quinella it with Category Five, Lyrical Lad and Empire Liberty.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM
THE MOBOT (1) is busting to win and comes back in grade. Gets the 2kg claim and will run along from the low gate with the blinkers on again. In a top yard and clearly the one to beat. I AM READY (4) resumes seeking the hat-trick. Has been heavily-bet and will have come on. Well-bred and is right in it with the 2kg claim. TELEKINESIS (2) gets a handy 3kg claim and two-back won the Maiden here by 4.3L. Will go close with a repeat of that. MISS CHARLEE LYN (8) won the 58 at Geelong and didn't have the best of it. He can fill a minor slot at a price.

CASINO: RACE 5 @ 1:55 PM
CROWN WAR (1) has yet to miss the top five in seven career starts and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. Has placed over the journey and goes well for Tomizawa who has had three steers for three placings. Rates the testing material. PERCONTATION (7) has been very consistent this time in with three thirds and fourth from four runs. Will be at peak fitness now and looms as a serious threat. TAAFFEITE (5) is a former Kiwi who is a massive watch following a handy trial win. BARONET (2) has drawn well in gate two and gets 2kg off with the claim. In the mix. MISS PIERPOINT (10) has placed over this track and distance and is one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Crown War to win.
GOULBURN: RACE 6 @ 2:55 PM
STORMBORN (11) resumes after a lengthy spell but form prior was very good at Victorian metropolitan level. Tuned up for this with two nice Randwick trials and looks to have a bit of a class edge over her rivals. The hardest to toss. INNISBROOK (7) is another first-up from a decent break but has had two easy trials in preparation for this and has placed first-up before. From a good barn and looks a major hope. SASAYURI (2) is very consistent finishing in the top five at her past nine starts. Gets 1.5kg off with the claim and can be in the frame. AMERICAN SALUTE (3) is a winner first-up and has placed at this track. In the mix. LUXURIAL (10) has placed three from four at this track and can earn a cheque. SELECTIONS: Stormborn to win.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 6 @ 6:15 PM
RENOUF (5) seeks the hat-trick and has been doing it easily heavily-bet. Has to contend with a wide gate today but should manage that reaching peak fitness. Will take beating again. SISTA ELENORE (8) resumes and is sharp fresh. Gets the low gate and her best is good enough. Lightly-raced and can be right in the finish. DEJANOVA (3) brings string form to resumption and the claimer will use the handy gate. Has placed 2/2 first-up and will have come on. MASSABIELLE (16) has come back to racing improved and gets plenty of weight relief in this grade. Fitter and can't be ruled out at a price.
