Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 02.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Geelong, Nowra, Ipswich and Muswellbrook.
GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 2:30 PM
BAINBRIDGE (7) led here this trip on resumption and bolted in by 5L. He will be fitter and can control the race from the rail. Rates to win again keeping the 2kg claim. SWISS HERO (4) just missed at Swan Hill and is on the improve. Peaks now and is a player. FIELDS OF IVY (11) won easily first-up at Ballarat and then missed a lip on the synthetic. Fitter and gets a soft run. Shapes as if the longer trip will suit. MAINLAND (9) races handy and was back to his best behind Facemask at Sale, Will be improved and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Bainbridge to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Geelong Computer Card.
NOWRA: RACE 1 @ 12:00 PM
NARRATED (9) resumes here but form showed last preparation suggests she can be very competitive against this lot. Prior to the spell was impressive running a close-up second at Canterbury and will find this much easier. Tuned up for this with two handy trials and is from a very good yard. Clearly the one to beat. LAW PARTY (4) has been thereabouts and will certainly appreciate the 4kg weight relief with the claiming apprentice. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and looms as the main danger. CHOICE DEEL (1) has had a few chances but improved last time out to finish a solid third at Kembla Grange. In the mix. AIR OF ALSACE (5) will take plenty of benefit from her debut effort at Warwick Farm and can earn a cheque. FRIDAY LIBERTY (2) is best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Narrated to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 9 @ 3:27 PM
BIEN CUIT (5) runs along and followed the close-up run at Doomben with a comfortable all-the-way maiden win at the Gold Coast. That stacks right up and he gets to peak. Draws well and can win again for the state's leading barn. I'M HITCHIN' BRO (2) has a similar profile and the blinkers are on first time. Has the key jockey switch to Thompson and draws to advantage. THE WARDSMEN (16) would be a serious player with a repeat of the Gold Coast effort two-back. Has trialled well since last seen and the winkers are on. POSITIVE TENSION (6) led and blitzed the Maidens at Ballina and also deserves consideration reaching peak fitness.
SELECTIONS: Backing Bien Cuit to win.
MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 7 @ 3:55 PM
INNOCENT PARTY (6) looked good when a dominant winner at Quirindi last start. Can go on with it now. ELUSIVE BABBZ (3) got a well deserved victory here last time out and can be right in the finish. SEBRENCO (5) resumes after posting a win from her only start last campaign and could win without surprising. AYTOBE (1) gets some weight relief with the claim and is right in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Innocent Party to win.
