Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 17.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Flemington, Moe, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Belmont Park.
RANDWICK: RACE 4 @ 12:50 PM
LA CHEVALEE (8) hasn't been given the best steer her last two starts and a key switch with McDonald going on from a soft draw. Looks to land leader's back and will have no concerns with the conditions on offer. On trial at the trip but looks very hard to beat in this line up. ZING (1) broke through for a deserved win last start and only looks to have to repeat that level of performance to be right in the finish again. O'MUDGEE (5) steps up from the mid-weeks but rates well a the weights and shouldn't be far away with McEvoy sticking aboard. NAVY CROSS (6) looks to lead and give them all something to run down.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on La Chevalee.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 3 @ 1:05 PM
LINDHOUT (7) was terrific late in the piece when winning here last time. Big closing splits make her very dangerous again. AIDENSFIELD (6) was just even here two weeks ago but she didn't look particularly comfortable inside horses there, racing keenly through the middle stages, and perhaps she will be better served now drawing out. Third up and has that 1400m run under the belt. Looks time for her to step up and deliver. GALGANI (9) made her work and should do so again. She will be on speed and hard to peg back. Both CHASSIS (5) and DON'TTELLTHEBOSS (2) have won similar races in recent times and have to be respected.
SELECTIONS: Backing Lindhout.
MOE: RACE 3 @ 12:46 PM
ROYELLE (10) came off a long break with an excellent first-up run at Bendigo. Strips much fitter this time and expected to give this a shake. DR SCHULTZ (2) raced on the speed and toughed it out well at Sale last time out. Expected to feature with a repeat effort. COLOURED SAND (7) resumed with a good effort at Echuca and has since been placed in a Traralgon trial. Fitter this time and won't be far away. DOCTOR RICK (1) boxed on usefully at Cranbourne last time out and is worthy of thought here.
SELECTIONS: Back Royelle to win.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 7 @ 3:28 PM
DREAMREACHER (2) is ready to win having finished runner up in both outings since a spell. Ran on to miss by a nose last start and should relish the extra 200m as he reaches peak fitness. Has never missed a place here. Top chance. AVOWAL (1) hit the line well and got within a length of the winner at Doomben over 1200m last start. That run suggested he is looking for this distance now. Threat. WORD FOR WORD (10) resumes off some good form and is proven fresh. Should run well. DYNAMIC DUO (5) was an eye catcher running on for second last start so the longer trip suits. DIVINE ROCA (11) is in form and worth including at odds.
SELECTIONS: Dreamreacher to peak and win third up.
MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 8 @ 3:57 PM
FRANKIE PINOT (5) can sit off the back of that and hit home hard. He did just that three weeks ago. He is also bred to love wet tracks so must be a huge chance even up in ground. REYNOLDS (8) ran many good races before a break. The market will tell everything of his hopes. Race has been decimated by some key scratchings. TYPHOON HARMONY (9) the last of the key players. Campaign has started in good fashion.
SELECTIONS: Fancy Frankie Pinot.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 9 @ 5:00 PM
THE SPRUIKER (2) is hard to knock with three impressive wins this time in, albeit by less than a length each time. Overcame a wide gate last start, drawn nicely here and hard to stop. ABERDEEN QUEEN (4) was a beaten favourite over a mile here three weeks back. Generally around the mark and worth another chance. SPECIAL CHOICE (6) was excellent when beaten by Amasenus two runs back, disappointed when right in the market in latest. Can improve. TIFF HAS SPOKEN (8) and SPEEDY MISS (7) have claims.
SELECTIONS: The Spruiker to win. Trifecta 2-4,6,7,8/4,6,7,8.
