Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 2nd August 2021

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 2.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Fannie Bay, Echuca, Gundagai and Warwick Form.

FANNIE BAY: RACE 6 @ 2:12 PM

SOUTHERN BOLT (5) has been racing in great heart, the latest overcoming a tardy start to win narrowly by a head at this track. More weight but this easier and looks the one to beat. TACITURN (1) finds it hard to win with six from 60 starts but has been placed on 23 occasions. Nowhere near best with the claimer aboard last time but previous form sound and senior hoop back aboard. Can quickly atone. NUMBER ONE STAR (8) finished in the middle of the pack last start at this track when fresh. Is up in distance today and fitter. Definite threat. MOSCOW MULE (6) disappointed last time over 1300m at this track, finishing sixth and beaten 11 lengths. Rates highly on best form and expecting a better run today. MUST BE MOET (10) has been in the market at her last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start running fourth at this track. Looks one for the minors. SELECTIONS: Stick with Southern Bolt.

ECHUCA: RACE 4 @ 1:30 PM

DEEL BLASTER (2) had support and didn't have the best of it resuming at Geelong. Has a near miss at Moonee Valley in the CV and fitter he can take this out drawn to advantage. TRANQUIL BAY (14) brings good form to peak and will find this easier than Sandown. She will go close for a leading barn. AGE OF INFINITY (1) resumes and has shown plenty. Will have come on and is a chance despite the sticky gate. RAGING WATER (6) gets the blinkers again and will use the rail. He'll be in it for a long way.
SELECTIONS: Going with Deel Blaster.

GUNDAGAI: RACE 5 @ 3:15 PM

FOLK HERO (9) has been strong his past two going down narrowly. Wet track is no issue and Brodie Loy goes aboard today. Will make his presence felt. SYDNEY BLUE (3) has become an enigma with his inability to win, but is well placed here to break the hoodoo. Nick Souquet sticks and he should be in the finish. BLACK STAR BOWIE (6) was beaten 2L at Dubbo last start. Wet track is no issue and he's placed twice at the distance. Keep safe. STREET CRED (4) up in trip after finishing fourth at this track last time out. Freshen-up suits and he has to be respected.
SELECTIONS: Folk Hero to get the win.

WARWICK: RACE 2 @ 1:40 PM

MILLIONS STAR (2) performed well yet again last start when third at Gatton over 860m. Has strung together a host of placings and is long overdue. Quick back up and should go close again. GOLDEN GROOVE (9) is back from a break and kicks off for new yard. Nice weight after the claim and a good draw. Looks a great chance to take this fresh. LIFE'SAGIFT (6) ran fifth last time out at Toowoomba and will find this easier. Comes here with definite claims. SHE'S SO VAIN (4) can do better than last couple at Toowoomba. Better placed here and expected to improve sharply. RED GADGET (8) made progress finishing midfield last start at Gatton when unwanted in the market and looks an each way chance again on that run.
SELECTIONS: Millions Star is long overdue.
