Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 14th August 2021

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 14.

Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Caulfield, Eagle Farm, Belmont Park, Morphettville and kembla Grange.

CAULFIELD: RACE 6 @ 3:15 PM

GENERATION (5) faces far and away his toughest test to date now but he looks right up to it. Far too good on debut and then ripped around here before a break, recording a slick time and looking ready made for races like this one. He doesn't have the form in the book that INGRATIATING (3) can boast having been placed in both the Diamond and the Slipper last season. No reason to think that he won't train on and make a smart three-year-old. He ties in with the resuming GENERAL BEAU (1) who is fast and clearly an ready made early sprinter. Must be a chance. The likes of LIGHTSABER (2) and MR MOZART (7) are probably outpaced here at 1100m but are interesting watches for the future.
SELECTIONS: Think Generation has the speed and talent to win this.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 3 @ 12:33 PM

SAFEEYA (8) didn't miss by much when taking on open three-year-old company at Doomben last start and is suited back to a C3 having won in this grade here two back. Drawn to get the favours and looks well placed. SAMURAI (1) showed speed here last time over 1400m and stalked the lead before missing by a head. Hasn't missed a place at this course and won his only try at the distance. Ready to peak third up. NISHIKORI (9) led throughout to win by 1.8 lengths over 1250m at Ballina last time. Has upside so could take the next step. MISHANI EPIC (4) ran on well for a close fourth last start and is unbeaten third up. He should enjoy the longer trip while KUDU (3) has form that is hard to knock and can play a role with even luck from the draw.
SELECTIONS: Safeeya to win back in the right grade.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 4 @ 1:42 PM

NOBEL LAURENCE (3) is hard to tip against after an impressive second-up win. Strikes a similar sort of race and should take stopping. MEGAZONE (6) had a wide run but fought on well for a much improved second at his latest attempt. A repeat of the effort has him right in the mix. NO APOLOGY (2) rarely runs a bad race and can be competitive first-up at this trip. Keep an eye on betting. OUQBA TED (1) and NEXT STOP THE MOON (5) are capable of being in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Nobel Laurence to win. Trifecta 3-1,2,5,6/1,2,5,6.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 6 @ 2:57 PM

Highlight of the day is a really good edition of the Spring Stakes. BEHEMOTH (1) has been so good for 12 months now. He's a G1 sprinter who attacks the line and even stretched to the mile to run so well. Trial suggests he's not gone backwards. BEAU ROSSA (3) took on Listed grade before he turned 4yo and thrashed them. He has that fitness edge on the better horses. DALASAN (2) basically came of age last Autumn in defeat. Two great runs at Randwick showed his quality. Watch him late. PERFECT ROUTE (7) made big improvement over a year back. May need the run.
SELECTIONS: Great race but Behemoth is quality.

KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 7 @ 2:55 PM

OSCAR ZULU (9) was safely held last start prior to a four week let up and seemingly lands in an ideal race. Was flying prior to disappointing as favourite at Randwick last start. Now goes around at a near each way quote. Those inclined to forgive latest outing could be well rewarded. FROSTY ROCKS (5) did a good job to score first up when leading throughout at Rosehill over 1300m. Open to good improvement off that and while yet to fire second up previously (3:0-0) this looks a suitable assignment and he should take some catching. GAULOIS (2) wasn't far off the mark fresh and has placed in six of eight attempts second up. Drawn to receive all the favours and looms as a major threat. ORDER AGAIN (1) broke back into the winner's stall last start and while up in the weights they offset that with Sherry's claim and he has to be included off the soft draw. TRUE DETECTIVE (8) continues to race well and appears the next in line.
SELECTIONS: Oscar Zulu can quickly return to form. Back accordingly.
