Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 27.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Gosford, Pakenham Synthetic, Taree, Gold Coast and Alice Springs.
GOSFORD: RACE 2 @ 1:20 PM
GIDGEE GUY (1) is a very consistent conveyance placing at six of his past seven starts. Will be rock-hard fit for this and has placed two from two at this circuit. Looks to have found a winnable race and rates the testing material. RUBY FACTOR (6) was a touch disappointing last start but go on handy Scone win the start prior. Looks a genuine contender. DOLLAREURO (3) was a solid third last time out in his first run for the new stable and is drawn to get a soft run for Clark from gate two. In the mix. LITTLE STEINY (5) has a win and two seconds over this course and distance and can earn some minor money. SILVER THORN (7) won over this track and trip two starts back and is one for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Gidgee Guy to win.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM
TARAMANSOUR (4) missed a nose this trip second-up on the Ballarat synthetic rising to this distance range and then impressed again there winning the 64 there as a hot favourite. Peaks now and can go right on with it. LUNAR FLARE (3) was just lipped out twice at Flemington and hasn't had the best of it since. This grade will be much more to her liking and the longer journey suits. BORDER LEICESTER (5) wasn't fancied and had a tough run at his first outing since coming from NZ. Drops in distance on a 6-day return and expect a sharper run. VALAC (1) resumes and more recently has been hurdling. Has the flat ability and is worth a market watch.
SELECTIONS: Backing Taramansour to win.
TAREE: RACE 1 @ 12:30 PM
ENDORPHINS (12) was narrowly beaten over this track and distance 10 days ago. Carries a light weight with Dylan Gibbons sticking. Leading chance. DONE GOOD (4) wasn't far away over 1800m at Port Macquarie last start and rises back to 2000m again. Not out of this on best figures. ZOOMERANGO (7) draws well after finishing 4.7L back at Scone. Reece Jones hops in the saddle. Keep safe. ITALIAN TUNE (6) went close at Port Macquarie in his latest outing and has good wet track form. He's a winner at the distance and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: With Endorphins to win.
GOLD COAST: RACE 6 @ 3:57 PM
JETTY (2) has just been nudged out at Eagle Farm his last two starts and finds a touch easier. Gets a soft run from the rail and can go one better for a top barn. JACK THE LAD (12) is also in good hands and resumed in good order at Doomben. Gets weight relief in this grade and has more to give. Has won second-up and is a player. COTTON FIELDS (11) resumes for the in-form Vandyke barn owning a Deagon trial win. Is sure to have come on and the 37% stable-striker is aboard. PETUNIA (15) has been good since the win here and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Jetty
ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 4 @ 3:15 PM
UP (6) was beaten 1.3L in a Darwin Maiden before being out-graded there. He reaches peak fitness and can win in this line-up. TALLINN (3) was just beaten in a Perth Maiden and then raced favourite here for the new yard and disappointed. Gets the blinkers first time and a much sharper run is on the cards. ALICE BAND (4) was plainer last time but was tracking well prior and is in the mix. DREAMTIME LADY (5) is a former Victorian who flopped at her first run here. Is much better than that and keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Backing Up
