Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for August 28.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Kembla Grange, Caulfield, Doomben, Morphettville and Belmont.
KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 6 @ 2:30 PM
There were a few unlucky runners behind PAULELE (4) in the Rosebud but when it all boils down he gave them weight and a beating. Returned a new career peak and has made that transition from two to three. Drawn to get the run of the race for McDonald and they'll have to be good to beat him. STAY INSIDE (1) was the best of his generation at two and we now wait and see whether he can hold that mantle at three. Trials have been solid enough and he should have no concerns with the conditions. Obvious threat. IN THE CONGO (8) had excuses behind Paulele in the Rosebud and should measure up again.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Paulele off his dominant display first up.

KEMBLA GRANGE: RACE 7 @ 3:10 PM
HEART OF PUISSANCE (13) arguably should have won the Warrnambool Cup before making light work of his rivals at Flemington prior to a break. Has trialled up well and looks nicely placed down in the weights. Progressive and should prove hard to beat. HARPO MARX (12) is in career best form and while this is a big step up he rates well and has to be included in the main hopes. SPIRIT RIDGE (1) gives weight away but is more than capable and also has to be kept safe in his return.
SELECTIONS: Backing Heart Of Puissance.
CAULFIELD: RACE 8 @ 4:45 PM
BEHEMOTH (2) won this race last year having returned a winner in the Spring Stakes and while he had to win that race in the steward's room this time around he produced a near identical rating which gives him the perfect platform once again. Should get into a great spot under the top jock and seen as the one to beat. TOFANE (10) has now won three times at Group One level over 1400m after adding the Stradbroke and Tiara at her last couple up in Brisbane. She's clearly going to have her supporters after that. BEAU ROSSA (8) must be respected having been right there with Behemoth last time. Good horse with the recent racing on side. COLETTE (9) didn't go on with it last prep but she ran a cracker to win the Apollo first up at 1400m and that makes her very dangerous. Also first up is the WA mare INSPIRATIONAL GIRL (11) who may need this one and be better up to the mile but she is interesting in here all the same.
SELECTIONS: Behemoth the one they have to get by.
DOOMBEN: RACE 5 @ 2:02 PM
ROMAN AUREUS (2) is close to a win after a string of placings, the latest when third at this track. Has won a trial since and hasn't missed a place at this course. Well drawn and this looks his chance to break through. RULE THE WORLD (6) finished midfield last start at Kembla Grange over 1400m. Tackles a longer journey this time. Looks suited and will be race fit third up. Contender. BARNEY'S LAW (7) belied the big odds last time, sent out at $17 but scoring by 1.3 lengths over 1400m at Eagle Farm. One of the contenders. MATOWI (1) has been thereabouts and can feature along with BENTLEY MAGIC (10) who is working up to a win.
SELECTIONS: Roman Aureus to break through.
MORPHETTVILLE PARKS: RACE 3 @ 1:11 PM
CLASSY JOE (1) has really found his form of late. Over the shorter trips he has been happy to race just off the speed and run over the top. He is loving these softer tracks. MUNTHAM MISSILE (3) is one coming back in ground after being dominant late a fortnight back. Won't want the track to improve. BEAR ARMS (7) has the ability to win by margins but back in trip is not a big help. EXALTED AMBITION (4) got back to winning ways last week. This is harder.
SELECTIONS: Classy Joe is racing well so stick.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 3:15 PM
BRAVE DREAM (4) was a shade unlucky before breaking through with a dominant performance over a mile last time. No harder and capable of a repeat. MR DELEGATOR (2) was runner-up in that race and has blinkers on so some chance of turning the tables. BEAT THE BELL (5) is fitter for a first-up win and is well up to being in the finish. KARIJINI AURORA (3) was back to her best with a popular win under 60kg at her last start and LITTLE FLIRT (6) has claims.
SELECTIONS: Brave Dream to win. Trifecta 4-2,3,5,6/2,3,5,6.
