Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 31.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Moruya, Ballarat and Rockhampton.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 6 @ 4:25 PM
AEECEE EXPRESS (1) placed here on debut and then trialled well before winning a Kensington Maiden first-up from a wide gate. Clark takes over today and the promising galloper can go on with it over the longer sprint. NEVER CRY (8) settled back again and it was a big effort winning the Maiden at Goulburn. The colt looks capable of building on that. CORDYCEPS MIRACLE (3) resumes for a strong barn and has trialled well. Parr's booking is a push and he draws the rail. He's up to this and keep safe. Stablemate THE MEDIATOR (7) resumes as a gelding and has been better supported in the morning market. He's capable and is well in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Aeecee Express.

MORUYA: RACE 4 @ 2:55 PM
RIVERSTOCK (2) wasn't far away when beaten by a progressive one in tougher company at Hawkesbury latest. Down in grade, is well weighted and rates as the one to beat. DRAGON'S SHADOW (1) was a dominant winner on a wet track at Bathurst 8 days ago. The in-form Matthew Cahill sticks and a repeat effort will see him in the finish. CLEM FANDANGO (4) ran home strongly to get the win at Canberra Acton last start. Gets in light and the wet track is no issue. Winning hope. SAME OLD SCENE (3) ran on strongly to win well at Queanbeyan a week ago. Only goes up 1kg and Jeff Penza takes the ride. Keep safe. ICKSTA (8) put in a big effort here last start and drops in weight from that run. Not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Backing Riverstock to win.
BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM
TESTA ROCK (11) debuted with a near miss on the Pakenham synthetic before being heavily-backed and blitzing the Maidens this track/trip. Gets the rail and handy claim and can keep right on with it. CRACKING NIGHT (1) has won the last two including here. Keeps improving and is a chance with the apprentice assisting with some of the weight rise. TELEKINESIS (2) was tracking well before the flop 15 days ago. Gets John Allen for the 4kg apprentice and a bounce is likely. SECRET HERO (6) won here three-back and hasn't done much on the grass since at better level. He will use the low gate and can't be entirely ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Backing Testa Rock to win.
ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 3 @ 2:42 PM
SIRFINA (4) has a strong record this trip but a maiden here, placing four of five runs. Speedy type perfectly drawn here and in great form. The one to run down. MIRACULOUS (7) has been racing well, the latest when second at this track over 1050m and peaks for this. Rates strongly and looks the main danger. BOLD HUNTER (5) was wide throughout on the Gold Coast latest and freshened since. Consistent record here and expecting a much better run this time. GREAT FOX (8) closed off nicely when beaten 1.3 lengths last time at Mackay. Should be winding up late again. BOSS BABY (1) makes plenty of appeal.
SELECTIONS: Hard to go past Sirfina.
