Today's TAB meetings are held at Geelong, Sunshine Coast, Murray Bridge, Kalgoorlie, Devonport, Casterton and Alice Springs.

GEELONG: RACE 4 @ 3:15 PM

GOLDEN MONKEY (8) has placed at his past two starts including last over this course and distance range when favourite. That was a handy form race and he looks well placed to break through here. HYDERABAD (9) on debut for the Freedman yard has been kept safe in early markets and warrants plenty of respect despite a wide barrier. RED HOT NICC (12) has been thereabouts in three runs back from a spell including last time out as favourite. Include in the exotics. BANK BANK BANK (6) on debut has been kept safe in early markets and a forward showing can be expected. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #8 Golden Monkey.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 8 @ 4:45 PM

TOLKOWSKY (1) switched from Godolphin in Melbourne to the Vandyke yard and has been close-up at Doomben both outings. The top hoop negates the wide barrier and fitter the speed-bred gelding can take this out. FIRST SON (5) just missed on debut at Rockhampton. This is a step-up but it was a good effort and fitter he looks capable of making the finish. HAYATE (12) has been threating since coming back from Canberra. He will be further improved and gets a low gate today. In the mix briefly freshened. WINSTON BLUE (2) will be sharper second-up and the former Godolphin galloper is certainly good enough. Gets the handy 2kg claim and keep onside. SELECTIONS: #1 Tolowsky to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 3 @ 2:33 PM

UNDERSTATEMENT (4) looks very hard to beat here. He's been placed at his past four starts, the latest behind Lomax at Morphettville. He draws a good gate and this does look his race on paper. PLYMPTON (3) was runner-up behind Jakazone at Port Augusta last time out but should be thereabouts from a good barrier. SARADAWN (9) has improved with each start and draws an inside barrier. WICKED WEEKEND (10) has been placed at five of 14 starts and wasn't far away behind Transference at Gawler last time out. A MIDNIGHT SHADOW (5) can run into the multiples at a price. SELECTIONS: #4 Understatement should be hard to beat here.

CASTERTON: RACE 4 @ 2:55 PM

YESUGEI (2) broke through for his maiden win over 1400m on the Pakenham synthetic last time and was scratched from Cranbourne on Thursday. Ideally suited here. Should go close. COLD BEERS (4) raced handy and stuck to task OK last time. Well suited in this line-up and won't be too far away. MOUNT MADEIRA (1) is a two time winner from 19 starts. Lines up for new stable here and is worth keeping in mind fresh. BROKEN TREATY (6) wasn't that far off them in slightly tougher race last time and is worth including here. SELECTIONS: Back #2 Yesugei to win.

ALICE SPRINGS: RACE 2 @ 2:29 PM

ROPPONGI (1) led and returned form winning this grade easily from the front as favourite That effort stands out and can go right on with it. THE LADIES MAN (4) was better third-up in the same race back to a sprint. He's good enough and can improve off that. BUTTERFINGERS (3) placed as favourite and peaks with a 3kg claim. Gets in light this grade and is in the mix. ELEMENTAE (2) is honest and won't be far away. SELECTIONS: Roppongi to win.
