Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on September 8.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Gosford, Sandown-Hillside, Eagle Farm, Belmont Park and Penola.
GOSFORD: RACE 6 @ 4:55 PM
SON OF SAMPSON (5) is in career-best form with three wins and six placings from nine starts this time in. Loves this distance range with two wins and two placings from five starts and is one from one over this course and distance. Will be in it for a long way. NOT ANOTHER REIBY (4) has put it all together since joining the new stable stringing together three wins on the bounce this preparation. Clark has been in the saddle for all three victories and sticks. Looks a real threat to trouble the judge again. WAIHAHA FALLS (8) looked promising on debut and is a live hope if he regains that form. The well-related GREEN FLASH (12) resumes here and is a winner first-up before. In the mix. HE'S A HOTSHOT (1) rarely runs a bad race and is a must for the exotics.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 6 @ 3:55 PM
LINAS LEGEND (1) clocked in well clear of the second horse and in fast time when winning at Echuca off a break. Impressed there, having shown himself a good talent in two starts last season, and while there are plenty with ability and upside among his rivals he stands out as the one to be with. STAR OF CHAOS (8) walked in by a space on the synthetic at Ballarat where his yard are so hard to beat. Chance to go on with that back to turf now. BEWITCHINGLY (9) also comes off a win that can be improved on now. DESIGN ARTIST (2) resumes having beaten a handy one on debut. That form worked out really well.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 2:56 PM
CONTEMPTUOUS (2) resumed further improved when just pipped this grade at Doomben. He's been a big trial winner there since and using the low gate is clearly the one to beat . MARRIED TO THE MOB (5) draws well and has won and placed the last two. He has a top hoop aboard and can make the finish. BETTER GET SET (6) resumes owning a 4L Doomben trial win, He's up to this and a bold return is anticipated. MONTENEGRO MAN (1) is a former Victorian who is much better than the form-line suggests. Is back after 39 days and owns a 2.3L Doomben trial win. Gets in well with the 3kg claim and the late market has to be monitored closely.
SELECTIONS: Backing Contemptuous.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 4 @ 3:35 PM
SCORPION STORMZ (1) has just missed here both runs back and drops in class. He will use the low gate and keeps a leading hoop. Fitter he's clearly the one to beat. PRECAUTIONARY (2) threatened here and then came back missing a whisker. Is racing at peak fitness and the 3kg claim brings him into it again. REGUARDLESS (7) resumes and Pike's booking interests. Draws out but the fresh form is good and keep her safe. GALLANT RANGER (6) threatened both runs before the latest on a number of occasions and she is in the mix racing handy.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Scorpion Stormz.
PENOLA: RACE 6 @ 4:15 PM
THRILL KILL (5) was runner-up behind Star Of Uma at Morphettville two starts back and is back in class on last time here. Draws well and should be in the finish. ACTION IN CAIRNS (6) is chasing three on end after beating Honey Go Lightly at Naracoorte last time and must be given plenty of thought. GIGGLON (1) drops back sharply in class having chased home Extra Time at Morphettville last start. The 3kg claim is a big help in this class and he draws a perfect barrier. BLACK SYRAH (2) has a good record and is unbeaten in two starts here. He hasn't race since beating This Kid Rocks here in May but draws well, has the claim and should be hard to beat. PEWTER (3) wasn't far away before a break and must be respected.
SELECTIONS: Thrill Kill to return to winning form.
