Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Moonee Valley, Sunshine Coast, Benalla, Coleraine, Nowra, Scone, Ewan and Twin Hills.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 3 @ 6:15 PM

MR MOZART (1) got it wrong around Caulfield in the McNeil. That form has worked out really well with Mr Mozart won of a trio of winners through there. Went forward and won well at Flemington with good horses in behind. This looks no tougher and it should work out well for him. FORGOT YOU (3) was able to peg back SANDY PRINCE (4) around here over 1500m last time. Sandy Prince had been in terrific form and Forgot You did a good job to reel him in and win going away. Can go on improving. Other last start winners MICRO (5) and PRINCE ALEXANDER (6) are also likely to improve into this with thimble tipped to suit both of them.
SELECTIONS: Looks to set up well for Mr Mozart.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 9:00 PM

BLOOD THUNDER (12) resumed for the new yard off sharp trials and spaced the Maidens at this track. He draws for the run of the race and keeps a top hoop. Fitter he's sure to take beating. HE KNOWS (2) missed a nose here in the 62 heavily-backed and that stacks right -up. He reaches peak fitness and is sure to go close. EXPENSIVE TO KEEP (7) has been close-up the last three and will find this easier than Doomben. Has a sticky gate but can make the placings again. REDSTONE (4) resumes for a leading local barn. The trial was good and he can run into the frame.
SELECTIONS: Backing Blood Thunder.

BENALLA: RACE 8 @ 4:00 PM

EMISSARY (9) brought strong middle-distance figures from the UK to the lip defeat first-up (over 1800m) for the new barn. He has plenty up the sleeve and has the 6.5kg weight dip. Will get a soft run and will take beating. BARADE (5) has been close-up both runs back in Open grade. He's Group-performed and gets the handy barrier and blinkers again. Fitter he's a winning hope. BARTHOLOMEU DIAS (4) is third-up for the premier barn and raced favourite the latest at Listed level when running on strongly. He's capable of using the low gate and can be right in the finish. STARCASTER (8) is also in good hands. He is a Listed-level stayer who likes to run along. Fitter he also has claims.
SELECTIONS: Emissary in a good contest.

COLERAINE: RACE 7 @ 4:20 PM

GLOBAL GIFT (3) has just been beaten the last two in 70 grade at gets plenty of weight relief at this level. He draws for a soft run and can take this out for the State's premier barn. MORTON'S FORK (2) has switched to the sharp Smith yard and was much better the latest this trip in a Randwick 78. He's been freshened and is a chance if the betting suggests he's on-song. MOSCOW RED (6) has won and just-missed the last two in Adelaide racing handy. Gets 6kg weight relief and should see out the extra 200m. NUDGE BAR (8) is better than the recent form suggests. Also gets a big weight drop and expect him to be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Global Gift appeals in the Cup.

NOWRA: RACE 3 @ 2:14 PM

BELLE ESPOIR (1) has been a model of consistency with a win and five placings from six career starts. Will strip fitter second-up from the spell and has placed two from two over this journey. Looks very hard to run down. ALQAAB (7) is another honest conveyance who has been in the top five in all seven runs this preparation. Has placed three from four over this track and trip and is drawn to get a cosy run for Penza from gate three. Expected to feature. WAIHORA JEWEL (5) wasn't disgraced here first-up and has placed second-up in the past. Rates an each-way chance. WESTGROVE (6) is a winner here on his home surface and can earn a cheque. MITTATA (2) will be near his peak fourth-up and is one for the exotics.
SELECTIONS: Belle Espoir to win.

SCONE: RACE 2 @ 1:25 PM

AKAKA FALLS (1) has done everything but win with seven placings from eight starts and strikes a very winnable contest here. Will strip fitter second-up from the spell and has placed on all going. Rates the testing material against this line-up. SCARZEL (8) improved sharply when a handy second in his first run for the new stable and gets 2kg weight relief with the claim. Drawn to advantage in gate one and looks the main danger. OBEY (4) is getting better with racing and is a genuine top-three contender. THE SHERPA (9) resumes here but showed enough in his first campaign to warrant respect in this. CUPID'S KISS (10) is best of the rest on the back of a last-start third over this track and trip.
SELECTIONS: Akaka Falls to win.

EWAN: RACE 4 @ 4:13 PM

On-pacer THE TENOR (1) has been thereabouts lately, last start finishing just 1.2 lengths back in fourth at Cairns over 950m. Proven performer in better races than this. Has his share of weight but has earned it. Big run expected. TYCOON THUNDER (2) has been in the market at his last couple of runs but failed to threaten, the latest effort a sixth at Cairns over 950m. Open to improvement and it is worth noting he won at his only run on a dirt track. DREAM I CAN (4) went forward and proved too strong last start, scoring with just a nose to spare over 1200m at Atherton. On a six-day back-up which is a positive sign from the stable. Must be included. BOYER (5) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his last appearance at Richmond over 1200m on 12 June. Will be better for the run but is a top-four candidate.
SELECTIONS: The quality of #1 The Tenor to shine through.
