Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 30.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Wyong, Moe, Gatton and Kalgoorlie.
WYONG: RACE 4 @ 2:55 PM
THE DENZEL (7) has done everything but win placing in five of six career starts and strikes a very winnable contest here. Placed over this course and distance last time out behind a pretty smart one and McEvoy has had three steers for three placings. Looks the best bet on the card. COOREEI LASS (8) has been thereabouts this time in and will be reaching peak fitness for this. Capable of a top-three finish. KAMEA (9) mixes her form but is not hopeless and can earn a cheque. BLACKALL (3) strips fitter third-up and is one for the exotics. GUARD (5) best of the rest in a race with a long tail.
SELECTIONS: The Denzel to win.
MOE: RACE 2 @ 1:30 PM
BARNSBURY (2) was sent out at double figure odds on debut and just missed. Will be improved by the experience and is expected to give this a shake. SMUG SISTER (4) has finished runner-up in four of last five starts while also being a three-time runner-up here. Looks well-placed in this company to break through. Respect. AURA GOLD (1) hasn't been too far away in only two appearances and with the race experience has to be respected. FUN PARK (3) led them up at Wangaratta last time and battled home soundly. Is worth another try here.
SELECTIONS: Back Barnsbury to win.
GATTON: RACE 8 @ 4:35 PM
FOXY RIPPA (4) led was beaten 1.5L resuming at the Gold Coast. He has plenty up the sleeve and fitter should be winning for the premier barn. SEE FOR YOURSELF (5) made a ratings spike missing a lip at Beaudesert in stronger class. She only has to hold that form to be a player. GLOBAL FACTOR (7) will race at peak fitness and has been threatening at Toowoomba. Gets in well with the 2kg claim but the sticky barrier has to be managed. LADY LANCASTER (8) is lightly-raced and resumes off two Doomben trials for a strong barn. She has the speed to manage the awkward gate and won't have to be much improved to make the finish.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Foxy Rippa.
KALGOORLIE: RACE 7 @ 4:52 PM
The feature sprint is very competitive. TELLEM WE'RE COMIN (1) delivered in the Farnley Stakes third-up off two near-missed the same level. Is still on the up this preparation and Rawiller can manage the sticky barrier. Reaches peak fitness and despite top weight is capable of repeating a previous success in this race. DIG DEEP (2) resumes and his last three starts have been strong efforts in Group 3s. He's had two warm up trials with Rawiller aboard and 2x winning rider Pike takes over for this. He'll be ready to go and can be right in the finish. THAT'S FUNNY AZ (4) is fast and led an won the 78 first-up and that stacks up. He comes off a freshen and will be hard to peg back. MOSCHARD (6) rates well off the near-miss at Kalgoorlie and it was a big effort. Chris Parnham rides from a low gate and the gelding also deserves consideration.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Tellem We're Comin.
