Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 7.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Gosford, Armidale, Ipswich, Mornington and York.
GOSFORD: RACE 6 @ 4:25 PM
MICRONA (1) broke through for a well-deserved victory last time out and can go right on with it now. Has placed at this track and Bayliss has had one win from one steer. Looks the one to beat. TEA LEAVES (5) resumes here but showed enough in his first preparation to warrant consideration in this. OAKFIELD CHEROKEE (4) was much improved last time out and must be respected from the astute stable. AMBITIOUS PRINCE (3) will be rock-hard fit for this and can earn some minor money. CONVINCED (8) best of the rest.

ARMIDALE: RACE 3 @ 2:55 PM
GOBBLED (12) is a model of consistency only missing the top five once in six career starts. Has placed over this track and trip and drawn to get some cover from gate six. Looks to play a major role in the finish. WANDA BEACH (11) has placed two of her past three starts and is a genuine top-three contender. OOZES CLASS (9) has placed over this course and distance and can earn some minor money. CLIX (6) is a live hope from the low draw. DOBBIN (3) is best of the rest while fresh.
SELECTIONS: Gobbled to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 8 @ 5:22 PM
TOLKOWSKY (1) has been close-up the three runs back and has won a trial since last seen. The premier hoop sticks from that and will use the rail on the speed-bred gelding. In good hands and is the one to beat. WILD IRISH (10) has also been racing well without winning. Gets the winkers first time and is a decent hope with some weight relief and Fradd aboard. TRIPTONIC (4) has a similar profile and keeps improving. Draws handy and won't be far away. MADAME MO (7) missed a lip first-up in a bit easier and is a speedy galloper drawn low. She has more up the sleeve and can make the finish.

MORNINGTON: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
LOVE TAKES TIME (2) is a nicely bred mare that did a good job on debut. Resumes but will be improved by that experience and shapes as the one to beat. ZOUMON (3) came in for solid support on debut and won well after racing on the speed. Extra ground here shouldn't be a problem. Has to be respected. THINK WINNING (1) raced handy and stuck to task well when resuming at Bendigo. Fitter this time around and won't be too far away. ORRONG ROAD (4) was a Pakenham Synthetic winner four runs back and efforts since have been sound. Is worth of thought here. SELECTIONS: Back Love Takes Time to win.
YORK: RACE 6 @ 4:55 PM
CHOIX DE LACE (2) led and won here first-up this grade as expected and then was beaten a nose at Toodyay. Keeps the 3kg claim and fitter can bounce back. ARTIC BLUE (1) beat the above home in that contest quickly finding form. Draws well with a 3kg claim and has more to give. MAGNUSON MAN (7) is on the quick return and the speedy galloper has been racing at better level. In the mix finding his best. IZZY MAY (6) reaches peak fitness and consider on the near-miss at York two-back.
