Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 9.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Caulfield, Hamilton, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Ascot.
RANDWICK: RACE 10 @ 6:05 PM
ON THE LEAD (3) was no match late for Belluci Babe last start but still ran well and should be right at his peak third up. Looks suited back to 1000m and has drawn to settle closer for McDonald. Nothing really scary engaged and he should take plenty of beating. MARNIX (12) gets the blinkers on for the first time in his return and is capable on best form. Drawn to get a lovely soft run and looms as the main danger. KINLOCH (5) also gets the blinkers on and has trialled well for his return. Bowman is unbeaten aboard (1/1) and he should be very strong late. Last start winner LEO (10) next best.

CAULFIELD: RACE 7 @ 3:50 PM
The kinder draw will surely see TAILLEUR (4) settle closer this time and she looks a terrific chance given that. Liked the fresh run up in Sydney and then had no luck after going back from a wide draw last time. Has trialled since to keep her ticking over. Unbeaten in two runs third up and was good enough to start hard in the market in the Galaxy in the autumn. LA MEXICANA (3) is in the right race and she can use her inside draw to settle in the first couple. That positive map is something that the talented BROOKLYN HUSTLE (1) doesn't have. She's going to be spotting them a start but we know the talent is in there.
SELECTIONS: Looks a great set up for Tailleur.
HAMILTON: RACE 7 @ 4:46 PM
KINGS FULL (7) is deserving of a win. Placed in much tougher race at Flemington before solid effort with plenty of weight last time. Drops in weight here and gets chance to break through. MORTON'S FORK (3) worked home soundly at first run for new stable. Will be improved with that run under the belt and the rise in trip should assist. HOSTAR (9) finished gamely to get the prize in the Murtoa Cup last time in an improved performance. May be able to go on with it now. MUNTHAM MISSILE (6) has been racing well over in Adelaide of late and looks nicely placed in this contest. Won't be far away.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 7 @ 4:02 PM
The class of APACHE CHASE (2) shone through when he resumed with a win over 1200m in the Listed Weetwood Hcp at Toowoomba. Has a 50 per cent strike rate here and is four from six at the distance. Ticks plenty of boxes and can do it again. VINCO (7) made it two wins from his last three starts when scoring over 1300m at Toowoomba last time. Race fit and is right in this. EMERALD KINGDOM (1) returns from a ten week break after finishing last campaign with a win at the track and trip. Has won five from 10 at this journey and will be ready to go off an easy trial win. OUR PLAYBOY (3) went to the paddock off a win in the G3 Winx Guineas and has been trialling well. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Apache Chase to add to his fine record at the course and distance.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 2:17 PM
Feature of the day is the Hill Smith Stakes for the staying 3yos. BLACKCOMB (7) just feels like she wants to run it out. She is certainly hard fit and has already shown she is capable in good company. Ready to step up in grade now. MAX FIRE (2) has the wins on the board. He will give you a sight for a long time in this. JUNGLE MAGNATE (1) is bred to want all of this. Never had a chance from back there a fortnight ago. Stable knows these young horses. CERBERUS (4) will be wanting every bit of the 1800m. Respect the yard. WHEELS OF COURAGE (3) keeps running honestly.

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 3:45 PM
The well-related GRACEFUL GIRL (4) is as honest as they come never missing a drum in seven career starts. Goes very well for Pike and is three from three over this journey. Is clearly the one they all have to run down. THE FUGAZI (6) was a model of consistency before the spell and has a solid first-up record with two wins and two placings from five attempts. Drawn the inside alley for Rawiller and looks a leading contender. COME MAGIC (8) is in career-best form putting two wins together. Will be near peak fitness now and looks a genuine top-three hope. CHARLETON EDDIE (1) is a three-time winner at this track and gets 2kg off with the claim. In the mix. MYSTICAL VIEW is rarely far away and can earn a cheque.
