3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 2.

Picture: Racing Photos

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Flemington, Randwick, Eagle Farm. Morphettville, Ascot, Geraldton, Gold Coast, Canberra, Sunshine Coast, Muswellbrook, Echuca and Fannie Bay.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 6 @ 1:55 PM

PROFITEER (1) was certainly disappointing first up from a break in the Moir but ultimately he was only beaten 2.5 lengths there and then he bumped into a stellar performance from his stablemate last time. Gapped third, the form has already started working out, and now he comes back to 1000m and back to Flemington where he won so well on debut. Looks his day to shine. The only real ratings threat is ENTHAAR (4) who has been kept on ice throughout the early spring. Looking for a soft kick off here and runs into Profiteer - bit rude! Good enough to start a dominant favourite in the Blue Diamond and no shock to see her trouble him. Right race for DIRECT (5) who should run well kept fresh and BACCHANALIA (7) could run well back a gelding off a nice trial.
SELECTIONS: Thinking Profiteer makes the most of this.

RANDWICK: RACE 4 @ 1:40 PM

ROOTS (6) won well on debut at Goulburn before taking a big step forward last start when a close second behind Fangirl. The latter has since won very impressively at Flemington and Roots should be even better getting to the mile. Likely to get back from the draw but should have these covered. GRACILISTYLA (4) broke through for her maiden win at Warwick Farm last start when leading throughout. Obviously harder here but looks to be putting it all together now. LEASE (2) continues to race well and has to be included with the added aid of the claim.
SELECTIONS: Roots clearly the one to beat.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 4 @ 2:51 PM

FETCH (7) is promising. Closed well when resuming with a fourth against a decent bunch of three-year-olds having won her only previous outing. Fitter second up and looks well placed in a C1. VIRTUOUS MISS (4) impressed in landing her maiden success at Doomben last time, leading and kicking away to score by 3.5 lengths over 1050m. The penny may have dropped so she could go on with it. RALPH'S HONOUR (3) won her maiden at this track and trip in her lone run of last campaign. Keep safe. DRIZZLE (6) had good form last preparation and has been readied with a solid trial.
SELECTIONS: Fetch is well placed and can win off a nice return.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 7 @ 4:22 PM

DIAMONDS (1) has been good in three runs back form a spell and wasn't beaten far behind Another Award last time which is solid form for a race like this. CHAMPS D'OR (3) comes off two handy runs in Victoria, the latest placed at Hamilton and gets a good draw and the claim. DISTANT LOVER (5) trialled well before an OK effort first-up in SA. ULTIMATE ADDICTION (6) was a Balaklava winner in September and runner-up behind Outpost last time which is a good form line. DAMASCUS MOMENT (2) has speed and can run a cheeky race.
SELECTIONS: Diamonds to regain winning form.

ASCOT: RACE 9 @ 5:14 PM

The feature race on the card, the $125,000 Listed Burgess Queen Stakes. SEARCHIN' ROC'S (3) is in a rich vein of form stringing four wins together on the bounce. Will strip fitter second-up from the spell and goes well for Yuill who has had three steers for three victories. Looks the one they all have to run down. TREASURED STAR (10) hasn't put a hoof wrong with two impressive wins this time in. Pike sticks in the saddle and looks a genuine top-three contender. BUZZOOM (6) is as honest as they come never missing a drum in eight career starts. Has to be included. MY FURY (8) will be rock-hard fit for this and can earn some minor money. FLYING MISSILE (4) is a three-time winner at this circuit and is a must for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Searchin' Roc's to win.

GERALDTON: RACE 1 @ 1:14 PM

GALACTIC STORM (11) is on debut from the powerful Durrant stable. Has a two kilo claim and will be awfully hard to beat. On top. ROBYN'S SON (1) looks the likely leader and fourth up with a 3kg claim should now be ready to show something. Include. WE WONDER WHY (6) has improved since arriving in the area. Finished on solidly for 2nd last start and with a 3kg claim from the ace draw she is likely to be thereabouts again. COLOUR ME QUICK (8) ran the race of an improver when running third on debut from her new stable. With natural improvement and up in trip she should be hard to hold out.
SELECTIONS: Galactic Storm win.

GOLD COAST: RACE 3 @ 2:28 PM

SMOOTH MOVE (1) came home well last start to win at Sunshine Coast and has come back well this preparation having placed in his other three starts. Looks ideally placed to gain his first win at this venue. THE DRILLER (2) has had just the two starts at Gold Coast and won both with the latest two back when the $1.40 favourite. Hard to not see him not figuring in the finish. BROOK HILL (3) came home well here two back to score easily and then finished fourth of seven also at this track. Include in combinations. MISHANI CONMAN (5) won at $16 last start at Ipswich winner to make it three wins from his last seven starts. Can run into the money again at odds. SELECTIONS: Smooth Move rated the best bet today.

CANBERRA: RACE 5 @ 3:24 PM

PORT DOUGLAS (5) has been going better than most. He's fit and gets a low gate and the blinkers on again. In a sharp local barn and looks the one to beat on a 5-day return. LARMOUR (6) is also in good local hands and resumed in good order at Orange. The mile suits and she should get a soft run from the rail. Three of his four wins have come this track and two at the trip. MILAMOO (8) has placed at the mile and brought good form to the latest but found Open company too tough. Draws well with a small claim and can go much better. BALONNE (3) doesn't win out of turn but was much better two-back at Moruya and the Keith Dryden-trained galloper can't be ruled out. SELECTIONS: Going with Port Douglas.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 6 @ 4:36 PM

DOOMANI (9) was sent out as the $2.90 favourite here last start and could only finish third of nine. Will strip a lot fitter today and hard to see her not figuring in the finish. KEETA (1) led last start but was run-down to finish seventh of 10 runners at this track following a good run for fourth also here. Drops back slightly in distance today and shouldn't be far away. SINO DEFEAT (13) won last start fresh-up at Ipswich and from his good draw at gate three he should get a nice run. Will strip fitter today and can easily score again. FRANKIE BLUE EYES (10) won his maiden race at Toowoomba last time out when leading all the way. Will be up on the pace here throughout the race and can't be left out of calculations.
SELECTIONS: Doomani will strip a lot fitter today

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 3 @ 2:41 PM

CINQUE TORRI (1) raced in tougher maiden company last preparation (3:0-1) and resumes here from a spell (165 days). He was gelded and trialled nicely ahead of this race, easily beating a 7-horse field at Rosehill Gardens. He comes from an astute yard and the soft draw will help. PARADISE ISLAND (11) has been excellent without winning to start her career. She finished 2nd at Newcastle on debut before a spell (126 days). She resumed, finishing 2nd again at Newcastle and second-up, she could fire in this event from the low draw. SMART THINKER (6) has a solid maiden record (6:0-2) and has finished in the money twice from four starts this preparation. The Perry/Bullock combination is a boost to his chances. BULLINACHINASHOP (10) was in the market on debut when finishing 4th. She was spelled (127 days) and she should be an improved filly in this race. TRUMPSTER (7) placed twice before going to the paddock (94 days). His first-up run last prep was ordinary but he could improve.
SELECTIONS: Cinque Torri to win.

ECHUCA: RACE 7 @ 4:56 PM

HONORELLAY (1) is close to another win having ran second at his past two starts over the course and distance range. He'll make his won luck on speed from a nice draw, is well in after the claim and looks hard to beat. BEAUTIFUL BEE (7) gets to the right race third up having put up two respectable efforts in BM64 grade to start this campaign. Despite an awkward draw she looks well placed to figure in the finish. MYSTERIOUS ART (4) placed over this distance when resuming last time in before racing without success in city grade. He creates plenty of interest first up in this grade. DISSEDGE (8) resumes with a Trial win under her belt in preparation and the Blinkers coming off. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Honorellay is close to another win.

FANNIE BAY: RACE 7 @ 5:36 PM

FORT KNOX (1) looked to be in need of the run over this distance last start and should be better for it. Has won seven times at the distance and will take some catching in this field. Hard to beat. BRIMARVI ROOBOY (2) consistent type who is having his first run at the mile here. Likely leader and could be hard to run down. Each way. D'LIVA (11) building nicely to a win and was a game second last start suggesting a win isn't far away. TACITURN (5) is back up in grade for this but was a commanding winner last start. Include in all multiples.
SELECTIONS: Fort Knox win bet.
