Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 16.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Kyneton, Pinjarra, Corowa and Dalby.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 3 @ 3:05 PM
BEDFORD SQUARE (5) finally shed the maiden tag last time out and will take plenty of confidence from that victory. Has only missed the top four once in ten starts and that was in a Group 3. Can go right on with the job now. AL SAHARA (4) failed last start in town but prior to that had posted a dominant win at Scone over the mile. Worth another chance. BEENVANE (6) was a handy winner at this circuit last time and Sherry sticks in the irons. Top-three contender. GERARDJOSEPH (8) is from a good barn and must be respected. COUNT ON ME (7) is bred to get over a staying trip and the extra distance should suit. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Bedford Square to win.

KYNETON: RACE 2 @ 2:00 PM
BAD INFLUENCE (6) charged home to just miss at Warrnambool when resuming off a long break. Win is near and gets that chance here. CARLISLE BELLS (8) is returning from a spell. Did show some promise at initial campaign and is worth keeping a watch on here at first run back. ABSCONDED (5) ran below expectations last time at Traralgon after being in the placings at her three previous outings. Can bounce back here. GMORK (3) is a son of Tivaci from the Danny O'Brien stable on debut and should be well educated for his first start.
SELECTIONS: Back Bad Influence to win.
COROWA: RACE 3 @ 2:50 PM
CONTROVERSIAL MISS (7) was heavily-backed belting the Albury Maidens by 7.8L and then led and placed in a decent contest at Gundagai. Forget the latest when out-graded at The Valley. Duffy is reunited and can control the race from the rail. Suited and will take beating. KENTUCKY DREAM (6) came from the back first-up beaten a half-head at Albury. He has more to give and finally draws a low gate. Fitter he will go close with the weight relief in this grade and Souquet sticking. THEN (9) has won two of the last three and keeps improving. He's a chance but an outside gate makes it tougher. OKRA (1) resumes with a 4kg claim but also gets a wide gate. He won't be far away at best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Controversial Miss.
DALBY: RACE 6 @ 4:08 PM
SISTER ELLIE (8) resumes and has switched from a Newcastle barn. He's been racing in better grade and has won 2/3 fresh and that's the key. Draws low and can win if presented on-song. MY ZEBRINKA (2) has been racing well without winning. This is a suitable assignment but he will need a good ride from an outside gate. CHARGED (4) resumes and should come back improved. Won here fresh three-back but the rider also has to manage a wide gate. BROOKER AVENUE (11) resumes from a sticky barrier for a new barn. Has been away for 446 days but won't be far away on her best form.
SELECTIONS: With Sister Ellie.
