Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 22.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown Hillside, Sunshine Coast, Ascot and Oakbank.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 6 @ 5:15 PM
QUATENUS (9) hasn't done much wrong with two wins and two placings from four outings to start the career. Strips fitter third-up and drawn to get the run of the race from the inside alley. Looks a galloper with plenty of upside and rates as the one to beat. Former Hawkes campaigner ATLANTIC SEAS (14) won her only start at Pakenham back in June before switching stables to join the Waller camp. A massive watch on betting is advised. RUBINOCCHI (10) has just found one better in both runs this time in and has placed here on her home surface. In the mix. AUTHENTIC JEWEL (4) has won three of her past four outings and is a must for the multiples.
SELECTIONS: Quatenus to win.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 6 @ 6:30 PM
TYCOON BEC (1) pulled up with excuses first up then went to Pakenham and set things up for a fast time and a high-rating race. She couldn't finish it off there but very forgiving of that. Looks to get a softer time leading or in the first couple here and in this class she can take a power of stopping. It's very even away from her. SECRETLY AWESOME (6) can race handy and the effort here in similar last time stacks up. The run prior was even better. Think we will see improvement from FRENCH MOON (7) third up. Good yard and this thins out after scratchings.
SELECTIONS: Thin race and a nice chance for Tycoon Bec to bounce back.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 5:05 PM
WINSIDE (7) resumes following a 40-day break following a last start second at Gold Coast when trying to lead all of the way over 900m. Has won four from seven starts and with two wins from four stats over today's race distance of 1000m could prove hard to catch. GLOBAL CITIZEN (3) came back from a one year spell to win last start at Gold Coast by 1.5 lengths when leading all of the way. Was well backed in that victory and has won second-up previously. Rates as one of the hardest to beat. BIG JAKE (4) won at Townsville two back over 1000m and then came out to finish second at Mackay as the $140 favourite over 1200m after getting held-up at the 400m and then receiving a check with 250m to run. Good each-way show.
SELECTIONS: Winside looks one of the best bets on the card.
ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 4:55 PM
PURE DEVOTION (7) went back from a wide draw last start in the Listed Towton Cup over this course and distance and although strong late was never a threat behind Black Shadow. Meets him 4kgs better today and with the blinkers on for the first time she should be closer in the run. Talented staying mare ideally placed to turn the tables. MIDNIGHT BLUE (3) came from last on the bend to be beaten just a length in the 2100m JRA Trophy here last time. Has an imposing record at today's trip and he will be cherry-ripe at the fourth run back. BLACK SHADOW (1) stalked the pace and was far too good in the Towton here recently. Distance specialist in dazzling form but the handicapper didn't miss him. DOM TO SHOOT (5) has hit the line with gusto at his last couple of runs, both over the mile. New to this trip but he is a G1 placegetter with no weight so must be respected. PADDY'S SHADOW (2) caught the eye late in the Towton and third-up cannot be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: Keen on #7 Pure Devotion to return to the winner's stall.
OAKBANK: RACE 7 @ 6:10 PM
DAZZLING HARMONY (8) couldn't have been more impressive winning her maiden last start at Balaklava. Drops 1kg after the claim and will be camped just off the speed. Can measure up again. STACKABLE (7) is a former NSW galloper who return from a break for new yard. Fitter for a trial and won only try fresh. Looks a top chance at local debut. SEA WITNESS (6) finished among the placings last time when third at Morphettville and that stacks right up. Looks a leading chance. RICHTER (5) took control a long way from home when he scored a stylish win at Halidon on debut. Tougher here but worth including. I'M KENNY (2) is well placed here and can feature at odds.
SELECTIONS: Follow up on Dazzling Harmony.
