Thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Geelong, Randwick, Caulfield, Morphettville, Doomben, Gold Coast, Nhill, Ballina, Newcastle (Beaumont), Warwick, Esperance and Albany.

CAULFIELD: RACE 6 @ 3:50 PM

LYRICAL LAD (5) spaced them at Cranbourne on the heavy and then backed it up on top of the ground at Pakenham last time. Beat a handy one that has come out and won since and did so in strong overall time. Looks the clear top pick on the back of that rating. LAUNDY (11) has a nice chance of turning the tables on DAQIANSWEET JUNIOR (4) from the Valley but both must have claim off that form. THE AWESOME SON (13) was a Valley winner two back and then did a good job to knock off a well fancied one last time. He has a chance coming from off speed while THINK WE'RE DUE (2) will be up on top of the speed and is better suited back in trip now.

SELECTIONS: Lyrical Lad is the clear horse to beat.

DOOMBEN: RACE 8 @ 4:42PM

BEAU ROSSA (1) is the class runner returning from a 14-week break. Opened last prep with a stunning 3.3 lengths win in the Lightning in Adelaide. Went on to just miss at G1 level in the Memsie later in the campaign. Won a recent Rosehill trial so looks ready to run well. ZOUSTYLE (2) made it nine wins from 13 starts when he led all the way and scored with authority in the G3 George Moore over this course and distance last start. Outstanding sprinter who is certain to run well again. BALLER (4) tried hard but couldn't pick up stablemate Zoustyle last time out. Fitter for two runs back and with a small swing in the weights can make things interesting. HARD EMPIRE (3) was fourth in the George Moore when resuming. Second up form not always flash but he is too good to leave out. ROHERYN (5) has had a let-up since a poor effort in The Hunter. Excellent fresh performer who must be respected over his pet trip with McDonald up.

SELECTIONS: #1 Beau Rossa looks tremendous value in early markets at around each-way odds.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 1:12PM

SUNFALL (5) would probably benefit from more of that speed but his form seems better. Not far away in strong Victorian metro races, with any sort of luck he should be winning. LAKE'S FOLLY (2) is an ever consistent 5yo. He is hard fit and runs solidly for backers. Does need a win. TULLYS GOLD (6) has also been without a victory for some time. He can be placed though. ALL IMPORTANT (4) will be backing up today. The blinkers go back on again too.

SELECTIONS: Sunfall to win.

RANDWICK: RACE 7 @ 4:10PM

STOCKMAN (3) is flying and is sure to appreciate the step up in trip. Rates highly at the weights and while the lack of obvious tempo is against, he should be able to get back and work home over the top of them. Fourth up this has clearly been his main target and he should prove very hard to beat. POLLY GREY (1) won well second up when given a peach of a ride by James McDonald. Since kept fresh (29 days) with a soft trial to keep her ticking over. Drawn to get a lovely soft run and looms as a major threat. LIGHTNING JACK (9) won very well in his Australian debut and while up in grade he rates well and is expected to take that next step. CRIADERAS (7) gets beyond a mile for the first time in his career and has to be the big query runner. If he stays he could be too good but it is a big if.

SELECTIONS: Very keen on Stockman.
