Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for December 28.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Yarra Valley, Townsville and Belmont Park.
YARRA VALLEY: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM
FLYING REX (6) improved sharply last start when up in distance and ridden closer. He won't have to work from gate two to get to the speed and gets his chance fitter third up. RECKLESS MOON (10) impressed last start when closing off well late for third behind smart winner Untouchable Ed. That form reads well for this and she was only first up on that occasion. Keep safe. BOBSLED (1) has had a few chances but finished off strongly for second last start when in the market. Include among the main hopes. RUMBLEINTHEJUNGLE (4) ran his best race for a while last start on the Heavy. Include in the exotics back on firmer footing. PRINCESS TINA (9) will find this easier than last start in town when close up and her form prior was sound. Don't take lightly.
SELECTIONS: Flying Rex gets conditions to suit.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 4 @ 3:21 PM
LIGHTHORSE LAD (5) won last start at this track and looks well placed again. Drops in weight and drawn for a soft run. All five wins have been here at home and sure to go close again. ASHTON BLAIR (2) finished among the placegetters last start when second at this track over 1200m. Continues to race well and fresh for this looks a definite danger. WICKED DANCER (1) really dug deep when winning by a head two runs back at Bowen. Hits the line hard and can run into the finish again. MALAWI GOLD (3) finished ninth last start, beaten 8 lengths at this track over 1300m. Better than that and rates a chance. ROYAL SHEEN (4) is next best.
SELECTIONS: Stick with Lighthorse Lad.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 6:17 PM
FASHION QUEEN (8) continued the good form this prep last start when she wound up strongly to finish sixth, beaten only 1.2 lengths, over this course and distance. Blinkers added for the first time so expect her to be a bit closer in the run. Ready to win again. MR MT WALKER (5) is yet to find the frame in two runs since resuming from a spell, the latest when fifth over 1500m at Ascot. Will tighten up following those couple of hit-outs and will prove tough to beat. LYLE'S CHOICE (2) hasn't been far away in two runs this prep, the latest a 1.5 lengths fifth over 1500m at Albany. Takes on a tougher assignment but strips fitter and should be competitive. BRUTUS MAXIMUS (3) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break in Saturday company, the latest when fourth over 1500m at Ascot, beaten 5 lengths. Watch for sharp improvement in this grade. CHICLETT (11) is knocking on the door and worth including.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on #8 Fashion Queen with the shades applied.
