Today’s Horse Racing Tips – 13th April 2022

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 13.

Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Doomben, Geelong, Pinjarra Scarpside and Port Lincoln.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 5 @ 3:10 PM

CALGARY QUEEN (2) has a few things in her favour. Goes very well for McDonald who has a win and two placings from just three steers and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and looks the testing material in this line-up. The consistent CRAZY TRAIN (7) has hit the top four in nine of her past ten outings and is a must for the multiples. SEBRENCO (1) will be rock-hard fit now and can fill the frame. BUBBLY LASS (4) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Calgary Queen to win.

DOOMBEN: RACE 8 @ 4:38 PM

Competitive. THATFEELSBETTER (11) was an easy first-up winner first up in the CL3 and brought strong form to that. He's further improved and gets all the advantages from the low barrier. The one to beat. TORUN (5) improved again winning the CL2 at Ipswich. Byrne takes over and fitter he looks capable of taking the next step. BLOOD THUNDER (12) won easily first-up as expected. He has plenty up the sleeve and draws for the run of the race. Orman goes on and that's a decent push. BROKEN HERO (3) can build on the decent first-up placing. Uses the rail and can't be ruled out. LA AMIGO (1) will lead and give a sight.
SELECTIONS: Backing Thatfeelsbetter.

PINJARRA SCARPSIDE: RACE 3 @ 2:24 PM

DEMOLISH (1) finished second last start after getting badly held-up with 200m to run. With clear-air today should be finishing over the top of his rivals. BEAUTIFUL BAROQUE (9) is on debut and will be well backed having won a recent trial over 950m, looks to be a leading contender. SESSWA (14) has placed once in two trials and looks to be a nice type of a filly who can surprise on debut, well worth a second-look. Has blinkers on. VONSNIP (5) disappointed last start when fading to finish 11 lengths off the winner at Ascot when resuming from a spell, has drawn well and in a fitter state today has place prospects.
SELECTIONS: Demolish to win.

PINJARRA SCARPSIDE: RACE 5 @ 3:35 PM

SUPERIORIZE (2) had only had single start campaigns leading into his big effort for second when fresh up last start, he is backing up within two weeks which suggests he has come through that run with flying colours. He is big on ability and will be very hard to beat. VITALIZE (9) looks to be nearing that elusive maiden win with a brace of sound second placings recently. She was quite unlucky in her only start on this track fresh up and should get a nice trip in transit from the perfect inside draw. A win would be well deserved. GLACIER MISS (8) was much better last start when getting within a head of winning on this track. She has form in the wet and won't have to improve much to be a big threat in this. NELLIESS (11) is improving with racing and will appreciate the step up to 1200 metres for this assignment. She will be at big odds but is worth including into all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Superiorize win bet.

PORT LINCOLN: RACE 5 @ 3:05 PM

CROWNED KING (2) has been beaten a lip his last two starts in city and provincial company. Had been threatening here prior and is suited with the 2kg claim. Can win with average luck from the sticky gate. TIME WARRIOR (7) beat Crowned King and then went to town and improved his figures again. A decent chance. SALBRIS (10) found more like here best Queensland form winning at Streaky Bay. Fitter now with more to give. In light with Callow's 3kg claim. WATERHEAD (11) won the Maiden well for the new barn and can build on that at a price.
SELECTIONS: Backing Crowned King to win.
