Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for April 24.
Major TAB meetings are today held at Ballarat, Wagga, Port Macquarie and Albany.
BALLARAT: RACE 4 @ 2:40 PM
CHARMED DESTINY (4) has placed at both starts to date when well supported on each occasion. He's stoutly bred and the rise in trip from a good gate is in his favour and he loses nothing with John Allen taking the ride. Look for him to go close from a forward position in the run. VADABOY (10) has placed at three of his four runs back from a spell and win isn't far away. Things didn't go his way when back in the field last start when narrowly beaten and he may look to travel closer from a wide gate. THINKING MAN (16) ran an encouraging race on debut behind a handy winner when favourite and if he can overcome an awkward draw he looms as a danger out to this trip. DUNALLEY (13) has placed at three of her four runs back from a spell including a narrow defeat last start and appeals each way. CELTIC GLORY (12) is capable of improvement on her home track back out to this trip and warrants respect. SELECTIONS: #4 Charmed Destiny gets to the right race.

WAGGA: RACE 2 @ 1:20 PM
GALBALAN (1) has been thereabouts in all three runs this time in and looks to be knocking on the door of a maiden victory. Drawn perfectly for Costin in gate two and this is not an overly strong affair. Will be at peak fitness now and looks the one they all have to run down. OUR LAST CASH (4) is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and can play a role based on his debut effort. In the mix. DIRECT AFFECT (7) has placed over this journey and gets the services of Ryan from the low draw. Top-three conveyance while fresh. AVVERTIMENTO (6) has placed two from two and can earn some minor money again. SELECTIONS: #1 Galbalan to win.
PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 4 @ 2:05 PM
ICING ON THE CAKE (7) was on-speed led here first-up and ran out of puff late for the new barn. Had come off two close-up sprint efforts at the provincials and they would win this. Will push forward and take beating with the extra fitness. CHIKY CHIKY MAMA (6) just missed heavily bet-on resumption and was immediately spelled. Brings a trial win to resumption and Gibbons sticks from that. Has the speed to manage the awkward gate and expect her to go close. SMART THINKER (3) is a leader who needed it at Scone first-up. He's up to this at best and will show more. MISS RINEHART (8) needs a good ride but may be next best. SELECTIONS: Going with #7 Icing On The Cake.
ALBANY: RACE 4 @ 3:20 PM
BELGRANO BELLE (3) presents third-up and ready to fire. Has switched to the local barn and is in well with the 3kg claim. The one to beat. REBEL MAN (7) found more like his best form missing a lip here over 1900m. May go on with it now but needs a good ride. JULIETTE (2) won at Mt Barker and then was close-up at Scarpside. Has an awkward gate but that form reads well. URBAN WARRIOR (1) led and won the Maiden here showing much better form on the slow track. Will give plenty of cheek again. SELECTIONS: Going with #3 Belgrano Belle.
