Perth’s Winter carnival is slowly beginning to wind down but the Belmont Guineas features on Saturday.
There looks to be three main hopes in the Listed race where Billy Ain't Silly is the shortest at present.
However we might leave that alone and go for Brooklyn Pier in the RTG78+ sprint as the best.
The 3yo has won 50% of his races to date and looked good first up over the 1000m.
This is a step up to the 1200m now and while he failed the only attempt at it, it was in the Karrakatta Plate so this is a much different scenario.
Sitting down on the minimum, they'd be wanting to have him up near the pace and perhaps not far from the lead.
He does like it at Belmont too.
Onto the last where there are a few chances but a good each way play is Serenity Bay.
The mare does enjoy the distance only missing the placings once in seven goes and has three wins here too.
She loves softer going if that were to be the case and will only be better for the first up effort when closing off to be fourth.
Some of her runs in Listed races give her chance to be in the finish.
BEST FROM THE WEST
