Brisbane Best: Sunshine Coast– 27th February 2021

In-form gelding Ligulate looks well-placed to land his first stakes win at Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

The Cody Morgan-trained gelding comes into the Listed Tattersall's Members Cup (1600m) having won three of his past four starts.

He impressed when clearing out late to score over 1815m at Eagle Farm last outing and while he is back in trip his two other recent wins came around the mile.

Andrew Mallyon is building a good association with Ligulate having won three of five rides and if he can slot him in from the double-digit barrier he should be hard to hold out.

Simply Fly takes a step up in grade earlier in the program but is a progressive sprinter who looks up to the challenge.

He has been strong to the line in winning both starts at this course and distance since a spell and has plenty of upside.

He has improved his rating with each of his recent outings and if he can do the same again he can take the step up at each way odds.
