Fresh Starlight To Shine At Kranji

3 minute read

The Michael Clements trained Starlight looks well placed to bounce back at Kranji when due to contest the ninth event on Saturday.

Stretch to the mile last start, Starlight was clearly below his best but creates plenty of interest back to 1200m.

Kept on the fresh side (34 days) he was won two of four attempts over this trip and has placed in three of five attempts on the turf track.

On career best form he looks very well having won the Group 2 Singapore 3YO Classic [1400m] just two starts back.

Leading rider Louis-Philippe Beuzelin links back aboard which is a key booking having never missed the money aboard the four-year-old.

From the awkward alley Beuzelin has a few options as Starlight is adaptable and could roll forward if they wish.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he looks to hold a decent edge and if up to his best form he should be very hard to beat.

The Mark Walker trained Hadeer has won his last two starts and while up in grade, his form is very hard to know.

He won by two-and-a-half lengths two back before stretching that margin further when winning by close to five lengths.

In great form this is biggest test but has drawn to find the front for Seow and he is sure to give them all something to run down.

The Michael Clements trained Pattaya raced in good order last preparation and has to be respected in his return.

The awkward alley won't make it easy but he has placed in two of three attempts first up and gets in well after the claim.

In nine attempts over this trip Patttaya has placed in eight, all of which came on the turf track.

Two trials should have him fairly forward and he has to be included in the main hopes.

Of the rest last start winner Water Rocket appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
