Sydney Specials: Randwick – 22nd January 2022

We return to Randwick on Saturday with the rail out eight metres and an improving track.

The opening event is one of the better races of the day with a number of promising three-year-olds set to clash.

Three of eight are last start winners, including Quick Tempo who is unbeaten in five starts.

The Waterhouse and Bott trained Silent Impact made sizable jumps in his maiden preparation and creates all the interest in his return.

A winner of two of his three starts he was last seen finishing seventh in the Dulcify Stakes behind Giannis.

Not disgraced, he's since won two trials and has drawn to get a lovely trail from the inside draw.

The speedy Capital Reign is sure to take up the running with Clark likely to slot in just behind.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he sits clear and given he is expected to improve further this time in, he looks very hard to beat.

Can't say he is any great spoils at the price but hopeful we do get better on Saturday.

The Chris Waller trained And We Danced was left in front a long way from home in her Australian debut when just grabbed late.

Her effort under the circumstances held plenty of merit and she should have further improvement to come given she was 56 days between runs last start.

From the middle draw she should land the one-one for McEvoy and while lining up against a few capable types, she looks to have more to offer.

Better than 2-1 is on offer on Thursday afternoon which is a more than worthy gamble, I have her marked 5/4.
