Emerging three-year-old Gatting gets out to an untried trip on Saturday but is expected to be very hard to beat in the seventh event at Ascot.

Trained by Darren McAuliffe the son of Hard Spun has continued to raise the bar and comes into this off the back of only a narrow defeat at Pinjarra last start.

Returning a new career peak on that occasion, Gatting appears very well placed against his older rivals.

A winner of three of his six starts, he has displayed plenty of ability and gives the impression he will relish the step up to 1800m.

The form through both Precious Memories and General Husson reads very well and in truth Gatting looks to have a decent edge on his rivals.

Admittedly both Juicing Carrots and Tarquin Shadow hold solid claims, though Gatting appears destined for stronger company.

Still quite a raw product, Gatting will no doubt be even better next preparation, however he is more than capable of winning this along the way.

The Wizard has ridden the three-year-old in four of his six starts and his decision to stick aboard is a further push from his claims.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he already sits clear on his last start performance and looks to set a decent standard.

Better than 2-1 is being offered about his chances which appears luxurious odds as we have him marked closer to an even money shot.

While that may seem aggressive, he is quite the talent and we expect him to be very, very hard to beat.

In the final event the Durrant and Miller trained First Affair presents a decent betting opportunity.

A distinct model of consistency this time in, First Affair was only narrowly beaten at this track last start and should be aided by the drop back to the mile (1/1).

From the good draw she looks to get a lovely run in transit and with the aid of Johnston - Porter's claim she should prove hard to beat.
