Best From The West - January 27

The Adam Durrant trained Kiss The Breeze displayed above average ability on debut and appears well placed to make a winning return at Ascot on Saturday.

Due to contest the second event, the daughter of Star Witness did a great job on debut when justifying her heavy market support at Belmont over 1000m.

Sent for a spell straight after, Kiss The Breeze has trialled very well in the lead up and the fact Pike sticks is a decent push.

Lines up against a few unknown types, however on what she has displayed, she certainly sets a decent standard.

From the inside draw she is expected to settle closer to the speed and should be aided by the slight step up in trip.

Trainer Adam Durrant has not been one to hide his high opinion of the filly and she appears set for loftier targets down the track.

Debutant Stares Andwhispers appears most likely to take up the running and is expected to run well, however more than happy to side with the race experience in Kiss The Breeze.

The Ashley Maley trained Red Publisher took a good step forward at Pinjarra last start and no reason to think he can't go back-to-back in the fifth event on Saturday.

Having placed in 29 of his 54 starts, Red Publisher is racing in great form and has only missed the money once in eight attempts over this trip.

From the good draw he looks to get a lovely run and with Jerry Noske sticking aboard (won 2/5) he presents a good each-way proposition.
