Best From The West - May 12

Talented filly Art Series went to the paddock in great form and is expected to make a winning return at Ascot on Saturday.

Due to contest the seventh event, Art Series really caught the eye at the trials when closing off well behind talented sprinter Durendal.

A winner of five of her 11 starts, Art Series has never finished outside the first three and while better over further she appears more than capable of sprinting well fresh.

The form through both Mikimoto and Perfect Jewel makes for good reading back in this grade and she has drawn to get a lovely run for Smoking Joe.

She possesses a distinct class edge and presents a great betting opportunity at 2-1.

Although lining up against a few in-form types, she is proven in better company and should take a power of beating for the Darren McAuliffe stable.

Would love to see her rock solid on track, if so, expect her to be winning.

In the final event the Team Williams trained See Me Sizzle is expected to display sharp improvement racing second up.

While finishing towards the tail, See Me Sizzle wasn't beaten far (4.1L) and continued his poor record fresh (5-0-1).

He improves sharply racing second up (4:2:1) and with Pike sticking aboard he ticks a few boxes.

The step up to 1500m looks right up his alley and he appears well placed based on best form.

His second placing behind Touch Of Silver last preparation has him right in the finish and more than happy to take the gamble with him.
