Best From The West - June 9

3 minute read

Not often we deal with a soft track in the West however it looks to play right into the hands of Profit Street in the Beaufine Stakes on Saturday.

Although unable to win last preparation, Profit Street raced in career best form having bumped into Dainty Tess first up, before close up efforts behind State Solicitor and Viddora.

In six attempts over 1000m he is yet to miss the money, winning three.

His sole trial in the lead up caught the eye and the booking of Pike is a decent push - placed 8/9 including five wins.

Profit Street is yet to miss the money on rain affected going (6/6) and has drawn to get a lovely run on the inside.

Despite conceding race fitness, he has class on his side and should have too much in the locker.

The Trevor Andrews trained Rock Mylady has been very good since transferred over to the West and was a real eye catcher last start.

Forced to go back from the wide draw, Rock Mylady made up plenty of ground along the inside and can settle closer to the speed from the good draw.

He is proven to race well on rain affected going and should be right at his peak racing fourth up.

Rock Mylady notably beat Vital Silver two back and now meets him 2kg better off at the weights.

No knock on the favourite, he is expected to run well again, but would rather side with Rock Mylady on the each-way.
