The main meeting in Queensland will be held at the Gold Coast on Saturday in what looks a tricky nine race card.

Divine Messenger (Race 7 #12) comes off some handy recent form and she lines up in the Benchmark 70 over 1200m late in the day.

Runner up to Winter Bride two starts back, the Tony Gollan-trained runner went on to finish second again at Doomben last start and she does not appear far away from a win.

Mark Du Plessis remains on board and from barrier 3 she is likely to find herself back in the field again with not a great deal of early speed.

Where she settles in the run is the main concern and if they can find a spot midfield she will be getting to the line strongly over the concluding stages.

Despite having just the one win in 13 starts, with form around the likes of Winter Bride and Shesees Everything she is more than capable of winning a race like this today.

Current price of $4.50 looks a good bet with the stablemate Happy Hooves the main danger at $4 with the option to back both in the race.

Earlier in the day, Reach For Heaven (Race 5 #3) heads north for trainer Kris Lees to line up in the 1 Metro Win over 1400m.

Both runs this campaign in Sydney have been good, fourth first up at Rosehill before battling on to finish fifth at Randwick last start, both coming over 1200m.

Steps up to the 1400m today where he has placed in 3/5 and he generally runs pretty well third up, yet to miss the placings from four starts.

Should settle around midfield from barrier six with Jeff Lloyd going on board and if he runs up to his Sydney form he certainly looks hard to beat in this field.

Happy to take the $3.40 on offer at the moment and although the 1400m may well stretch him he has shown enough over the 1400m previously to suggest he can get the job done today.
