Freehearted is now third up and ready to fire at metro level.

She did win first up at Sandown coming from near last under a big weight. Last start she tried that again and got home nicely into fourth at Moonee Valley when favourite.

The mare is ready to peak and draws to settle in front of a few in running.

This isn’t a high quality race and Yendall is in top form with his association with Weir on fire. There has been backing already.

Another Weir runner on the card is Romancer who is a fascinating chance in the last.

He has had lovely recent success with another five year old gelding by Redwood (Night’s Watch) and this former kiwi could very well make a big splash.

Placed in an Easter Handicap along with other black type, he loves a little sting out of the ground as we will get on Saturday.

Jamie Kah gets the ride and expecting him to be back in the field and firing down the centre late.

Representing the powerful Darren Weir stable, Fiera Vista gave the boys a galloping lesson with an impressive all-the-way win here. She took over the pace soon after the start and cruised along by a length and more to the last corner under little pressure. Into the straight, jockey Chris Symons gave her a shake at the 300m but she didn't respond until the 200m where she bounded away, putting the race to bed at the 100m for the easiest of wins, her second (maiden stakes) in five starts. Legion Fighter sat second all the way to the last corner, challenged but never looked like catching the winner to be three lengths in arrears at the line. Favourite Fun Fact got going very late from midfield to nab third from Angel who was third turning in and battled away for fourth.
