Star mare Viddora proved a class above in last year's Winterbottom and she appears well on track to go back to back at Ascot on Saturday.

An impressive winner of the Group 1 Moir Stakes in her return, Viddora simply didn't handle the wet conditions, when finishing down the track in the Everest.

Since freshened (49 days), she has trialled very well in the lead up and all reports out of the Kennewell camp are strong.

At her best when racing on the fresh side, Viddora has won two of three attempts when having 36-61 days between runs, last year she won the Winterbottom of a 36 day break.

Although a Group 1 in the book, it is hardly a vintage Winterbottom and on best form she has a clear class edge on her rivals.

Love the fact this has always been the target and she clearly has no issues with travelling.

Lloyd Kennewell has done a great job placing his mare and while a six-year-old, she is racing in career best form.

She has continued to improve with each preparation and a peak performance should see her very hard to beat on Saturday.

Close to 2-1 is still being offered about her chances which is a more than worthy gamble, with even luck she is sure to be in the finish.

The Jim Taylor trained Spillinova did the job for us last start and looks well placed to go back to back in the third event.

An eye catcher first up when ridden back from the draw, he was simply dominant last start leading throughout over 1400m.

Successful in returning a new career peak, he is back in great order and has again drawn to take up the running.

Obviously respect the favourite Arcadia Prince, however don't feel there should be as big a discrepancy between the two.

Arcadia Prince will likely be spotting Spillinova a big start on straightening and not sure he will be able to run him down.

There is little between them on their last start wins and confident Spillinova will take plenty of catching.
