Off-season racing lines up on the Kensington track this Saturday with a competitive nine race card.

Confident we can get the money early with the Team Hawkes trained Heart Conquered.

A winner of five of his 11 starts, Heart Conquered went to the paddock of an impressive win at this course and distance and is clearly a 3YO trending the right way.

Recording decent figures, he and remains open to further improvement and has trialled very well in the lead up.

Rising 4.5kg at the weights, Team Hawkes have engaged apprentice rider Billy Owen, meaning he only rises 1.5kg.

From his last 50 rides, Owen is striking at 22 per cent and boasts a strike rate of 39% with favourites.

The middle draw should see him find the front comfortably with the Matthew Dale trained Mossman Gorge likely to keep up and sit outside the lead.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he sits clear and while it’s never easy first up, confident he can go on to be better races this time in.

In the eighth event, the Kim Waugh trained Spring Charlie should prove hard to beat.

An eye catcher late in the Provincial Championships Final, Spring Charlie didn’t have a lot of luck, when only narrowly beaten.

Marked just shy of his peak, he should be even better back on top of the ground and should be right at his peak racing fourth up.

The wide draw should see him prominent early and at the weights he appears very well placed with Tommy Berry aboard.

Only lightly raced, he is quite the talent and should prove very hard to beat.
