Talented three-year-old Elite Incredible looks well placed to make a winning return at Kranji on Sunday.
The Cliff Brown-trained colt commences his second preparation in the Captain Obvious 2011 Class 4 Stakes over 1200m.
Elite Incredible is still a maiden but went a long way in a short time at his maiden campaign, culminating in a Group 1 placing at just his third start.
Debuting over this distance in a RBH 57-74, he fought hard to be beaten just three-quarters of a length then stepped up to the Group 3 Singapore 3YO Classic (1400m) when he was strong to the line to miss by just a neck when third to Top Knight.
Elite Incredible took on the best of his age group in the Group 1 Singapore Guineas, racing wide but still finding the line strongly when runner up to Top Knight.
Given two months off since, Elite Incredible finds a much easier assignment and has been prepared with a solid trial.
While he may ultimately want further than 1200m he is very smart and should have too much class.
The consistent Elise can make a race of it from the draw on the fence.
He has been mixing turf and all weather racing but doing a good job with placings at his past four starts in this grade, the latest a 1.2m third at this course and distance.
He has both a fitness and experience edge on Elite Incredible and has good wet track form so would be advantaged if the forecast storms were to have an impact on the going.
The Australian import Sun Conqueror is the query.
He arrives after a single preparation with Lindsay Park where he scored a Cranbourne win and two more placings from five starts.
Now with Desmond Koh he has been prepared for his return with three trials and is drawn for a cushy run in transit.
Red Symphony has been improving with racing this time in and he made good ground when fourth here last start.
He finished just half a length behind Elise and is drawn much closer to the fence so can play a role.
Good luck and good punting.
