Easy Does It Has Hat Trick In Sight

3 minute read

Progressive gelding Easy Does It can continue on his winning way when he lines up again at Kranji on Friday.

The lightly-raced Stephen Gray-trained five-year-old is chasing a hat trick of wins in the Class 2 over 1600m.

Easy Does It has done a great job this campaign, kicking off with two close-up efforts before appreciating a step up to 1400m for a fighting win at this course two back.

He made his first attempt at 1600m last time out and relished it, surging clear late to score by three-quarters-of-a-length.

That was Easy Does It's third win from just six starts and while he takes a step up in class he looks to have more upside than most of his rivals.

Apprentice Simon Kok sticks with him after piloting him for the first time last start and he should be able to slot into the right position from gate five.

Lee Freedman's Australian import Loyalty Man could be a big improver.

A seven-time winner in Australia where he was trained by Mike Moroney, the seven-year-old had his first Singapore start just shy of two weeks when he kept chasing for fifth over 1400m.

That was his first run for eight months so the hit out will have improved him and he should also appreciate the step up to the mile having won six of 10 attempts at the distance.

Makanani is another that should appreciate getting back out to 1600m having won three times at the trip.

He kept finding the line when beaten 2.6L over 1400m last start, his first hitout since taking on a string of feature races including the Group 1 Kranji Mile two back.

Eagle Eye beat both Loyalty Man and Makanani home when placed last start so must go into the mix along with Blue Suede, who was a brave third over 1200m last time but should appreciate the jump in distance having a strong record at the mile.

Good luck and good punting.
