Sacred Rebel Set To Continue Winning Run at Kranji

3 minute read

The in-form Sacred Rebel will be out to add to his impressive recent record when he takes on a handy field at Kranji on Sunday.

The class 1 over 1100 metres has gathered an intriguing field with three last-start winners joined by a couple of talented sprinters making their return to the track.

The form of Sacred Rebel leaps off the page, the gelding having won four of his last five starts.

He backs up after a brave win over 1000m last week, a success that took his record on the all weather to four wins and a placing from five attempts.

He will also be well suited getting back up to 1100m having won two of his three attempts at the distance.

Jockey Benny Woodworth is forming a very good association with Sacred Rebel and while he takes a step up here he has the ratings to suggest he is up to it.

Last-start winner Revolution certainly has the figures to threaten.

He was back in the winners' list last start when scoring on this course, a win he deserved after close placings at his previous two.

He is drawn the same inside gate as when successful last start and while he faces a jump in class he also enjoys a big 9.5kg drop in the weights.

With a good record on synthetic and a win and a placing from two attempts at 1100m he looks set to run a good race.

Pennywise has been freshened since beating Revolution to win at this course and distance last start.

He had been racing in Group company before that but relished getting back to his favoured track (six wins and two placings from eight attempts) and distance (unbeaten in three runs).

He has had a month off since then but has been kept up to the mark with a trial win since and should be in the mix again.

Two resuming Group winners are the big queries as they look to regain form.

Constant Justice was out of the money in three runs last campaign – the latest in the Group 1 Lion City Cup – but he is a Group 3 winner so has some class and impressively won a recent trial to suggest he may have returned much more like his former self.

Distinctive Del didn't fire in two runs in this grade last campaign but he is a Group 1 winner and usually races well fresh so it's definitely worth following any moves in the market.

Good luck and good punting.
