Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on September 16.
Three TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Monday at Corowa, Muswellbrook & Bairnsdale.
Corowa: Race 7 @ 4:55pm
Unique Golby to use the inside gate and lead. ROSIE'S READY (6) was disappointed for a run at a crucial stage then stormed home late once clear to finish 2nd over this trip at Albury last start. Very fit now after two runs back and with a little luck from a sticky gate can get the cash. SMART STYLE (4) is a lightly raced mare resuming from an eight-month spell. This might be a touch short for her but with the light weight she will be getting home hard. UNIQUE GOLDY (1) disappointed last start but won two on the trot prior to that so is certainly worth another chance. TAKEMEHOMEMISTER (5) is next best but generally needs a run to find form. SELECTIONS: #6 Rosie's Ready looks the one to beat in a race of few chances.

Muswellbrook: Race 1 @ 1:35pm
Cannot find much early speed here. I'M FLUENT (11) was bridesmaid for the third run in a row last start over 1450m at Kempsey, winding up late but finding one better to the dismay of punters who took red odds. Very fit mare who brings far better form to this race than her rivals and should break through. SHADESMAR (12) made up good late ground to finish just behind the placegetters last time out in the same race as I'm Fluent. Still without a placing in seven runs but is improving. VOYAGES (7) peaked on his run close to home when 6th over 1400m at Scone last Monday. Strips fitter and Ryan stays aboard in a vote of confidence. PHYLAVE (6) has been freshened up since a string of fair runs at the provincials. Each-way hope in this easier race. SELECTIONS: #11 I'm Fluent far too good for this field.
Bairnsdale: Race 6 @ 3:30pm
Ayers Rock, Rakau Whero and Rebecca to battle for early honours. FRIDAY FUNDAY (1) was an eye-catcher last start when resuming from a 21-week spell, chiming in late to get up for 2nd over 1600m on the Pakenham synthetic. Struck his best form last prep when he got out to this trip. Sure to be hard to hold out despite the big weight. RAKAU WHERO (5) had a 38-day let-up before putting in a nice effort late to finish 4th over the mile at the Pakenham synthetic track last Tuesday. Big danger on the quick back-up over this more suitable distance. AYERS ROCK (3) led and kept whacking away once headed to finish a close 5th over 2050m at Wodonga a week ago. Another with claims on the short turnaround. KOTHU ROTTI (2) can improve sharply second up from a spell. SELECTIONS: This looks perfect for #1 Friday Funday.
