A couple of Listed races feature on the Morphettville program this week with some good sized fields.

The WH Wylie Handicap is one of those and looks a perfect race for Soothing to be winning in open company black type races.

This mare really hit the line hard in the Toy Show in Sydney and that form has already been supported with Mizzy winning the Sheraco again last week.

She handles soft going well so the anticipated rain will be no hurdle and the start of her campaigns are best.

Sitting only a half kilo over the limit, she only needs to be within striking distance to be winning.

Earlier, we were on Shop Til I Drop a fortnight back and she didn't disappoint so let's not get off her now.

The mare sat back over this sort of distance and wound over the top easily. She does rise 2kg for that win.

However the manner of it and the fact this is hardly a strong group to run by suggests she can win again.

These staying mares often hold their form so well once they find it.

1100m TURF SOFT

Godolphin-raced mare Soothing followed her late-closing second to Mizzy (Zoustar) in the Toy Show Quality (Gr 3, 1100m) at Randwick on August 24 with a very smart win here, her sixth win in 16 starts. She was again ridden quietly and settled at the tail of the 13-horse field, before easing deep on turning for home. She then produced a strong sprint, hit the front at the 50m and then drew away to win easily by almost two lengths. Gift Of Power raced in seventh place but caught wide. She improved (still wide) rounding the home turn, briefly hit the front at the 100m and then fought on nicely to take second after a difficult trip. Schilldora was tenth early on, tracked up (wide with cover), put in a good run out deep in the straight and kept battling on well to take third while Hussybay also made ground from well back to finish (4.7 lengths) fourth.
