Pierata followed his very good late-closing second to Redzel (Snitzel) in the Concorde Stakes (Gr 3, 1000m) when resuming at this track a fortnight ago with a most impressive win here. He settled nicely in fourth place in the small five-horse field before moving up well at the 300m. He then sprinted quickly, hit the front at the 50m and went on to win well. Classique Legend raced in third place on the rails, eased into clear running at the 200m, challenged shortly afterwards and then battled gamely for (0.5 lengths) second in a very good first-up effort. Redzel went to the front as expected, set quite a good tempo and fought back well when challenged for third. Graff raced in last place in the small field before putting in a solid finishing effort from the 300m, making ground for (1.1 lengths) fourth in a very good performance at his second run back. Home Of The Brave, who was resuming, raced outside the leader before tiring for (3.1 lengths).
